a month by Editions Freeway since 1999.
However it was bought out by its director
Patrick Napier in 2004.
This is its 183rd issue – and its most recent.
3. Rock sound magazine is a magazine that is
primarily based on the music genres Rock
and punk rock. It focuses on bands/ artists
who have yet to be discovered and
includes a CD with featured music from
the artists that they are trying to promote

The audience for this magazine is for
people over the age of 16, this is because
the music genre is not very suitable for
younger ages. There is a lot of punk and
hard rock being advertised that parents of
younger children would not be happy with
them listening to or learning about via
this magazine.

the band ‘ you me at six’ it is of all of the
band members looking into the camera.
The lead singer is standing closest to the
camera so is presented as larger ( ie
representing that he is more important )
than the rest of the band members. The
convention of the photograph is a mid
shot.
They are all wearing black/ dark colours
that represents seriousness however are
all smiling, this shows that they are
enjoying themselves on the magazine
presenting themselves as a group.

7. Q magazine was first published in 1986 by
Bauer media group, and was founded by
mark Ellen and David Hepworth.
In the beginning of the magazine it was
subtitled ‘ The modern guide to misic and
more’
8. Q magazine does not have a specific music
genre but does not cross the line into hard
music such as punk rock. It focuses more
on pop, indie and 70’s rock.
It has a lot of different views on different
types of music and that’s what makes it so
popular.

range this is because they have a wide
rage of music genres in this magazine. The
age range for this magazine would be 1522 this is because the type of music in it is
primarily for younger people however it
may cover topics not suitable for younger
generations.

this contents page, most of the images are
of artists looking into the camera, the
others are of the artists playing guitar.
The conventions of these images are from
a low angle, it makes the artists seem
taller than they actually are.
All of the images of the artists have little
to none back ground making them stand
out more and make them look more
important/ superior.

because the writers have analysed
what men between 25 and 45
prefer to read about and have
contributed it into making this
