2. Demographics
• Instead of aiming my magazine at a mixed gender audience, I am
instead now focusing on a more niche market (of just females). I am
making my magazine INDEPENDENT.
• This is due to many reasons and would offer me many advantages…;
- It is an easy and affordable way to target my prospects
- Good at creating unique and profitable products
- Builds a unique business brand
- It is an easier sized market to relate to and create a closer and more
personal relationship with
- As this group is more targeted and smaller, it will be quicker to
become well known within this group of people. My visibility and
profile will therefore increase within this group
- There will be less competition, as I will provide specific services or
create specific products for specific people (cannot be easily
replicated)
3. Name of Magazine
I have decided to name my music magazine
‘Escape’.
- This is due to the fact that one of the main
reasons people listen to music is to escape
from their everyday life, problems and stress.
- I would like my magazine to be an ‘escape’ for
females and a place for them to go to read
about their favourite artists and follow them
through their musical journeys by providing
them with the latest information, news and
gossip.
4. Existing Artists
• Due to my change of genre (from pop-rock to pop)
and my target audience (from mixed gender to
now just females (mainly teenagers) aged 16+), I
am now no longer featuring the band, ‘Kings of
Leon’.
• Instead, I carried out a survey to 100 female
teenage girls on what other artist/ band they
would like to feature in the magazine by randomly
selecting artists from the current ‘Top 100 Charts’,
alongside pop princess and female artist Rihanna.
5. Results:
The results show that;

16% of the girls voted for
Justin Timberlake to be
displayed in the magazine
alongside Rihanna.
Taylor Swift had the
second most amount of
votes at 11% and Beyonce
and Miley Cyrus at 9%. All
of these artists are current,
fun and inspirational that
my target audience are
interested in reading
about.
