Machu Picchu is a city of ruins located in Cusco, Peru at an elevation of 2,400 meters above sea level that was built by the Inca Empire near 1450. It can only be accessed by train or on foot as there are no roads or airports. The city, made entirely of stone, contained temples and over 200 buildings where the Inca emperor and his family lived until it was abandoned when the Spanish conquistadors arrived.

We found animal tracks in the playground and spent the day following their trails to see where they led. The children had fun exploring and discovering different animal tracks in the playground. Their tracking activities helped them learn about animal footprints and movements.

Benito Quinquela Martin was born in 1890 in Argentina and was left at an orphanage as an infant. He was adopted at age 6 and had to drop out of school at a young age to help support his family. Throughout his life, he donated land and money to build a school, museum, theater, and hospital to benefit his community in La Boca, Argentina, where he lived and worked until his death.
