A senior-care proposal, designed to replace periodic-personal care for senior citizens. The system uses PrimeSense technology to detect falls, a smart pill dispenser, and an alert watch to keep the senior informed.
2017 was a watershed year for breakthroughs in big data, mind-body connection studies, genetics, brain imaging, and embedding technology in peoples' lives to reduce visits to the doctor; translating these discoveries into a public health action plan is an urgent priority, as indicated by these mental health stats.
This is a lecture for my Summer 2012 Medical Ethics Course at Bowling Green State University. It focuses on ethical issues related to genetic interventions, particularly whether the distinction between treatment and enhancement is ethically useful.

One of the major low-hanging fruits for games with sensors in the health space is to become highly integrated with the various efforts surrounding personal health records. Gameplay Meets Measurement is a session that seeks to build a current picture about the opportunities afforded to ideas around quantified self, patient monitoring, adherence, and compliance when it biometric sensors become commonplace for health & entertainment purposes.
Mental Health is more prevalent than what we think. Current care models and technology solutions are targeting medical conditions but the fact is most of the mental health patients are also chronic condition patients. It is important to provide holistic care for mental and medical conditions. vCareConnect technology helps organizations deliver holistic care to their patients with mental illness and chronic conditions.

Reactive Vs. Preventative Healthcare for Seniorsrachelgmoore
Exorbitant costs are breaking the back of the nation's healthcare system, and seniors are shouldering significantly more than their fair share of the burden. A large portion of these costs are due to a reactive healthcare model - one that only addresses problems after they arise.
In this infographic, learn about how a shift towards a preventative care model for seniors can decrease healthcare costs, improve quality of care, and quality of life, as well as some of the technologies senior living and care providers can use to promote preventative care and their organizations.

A tale of scale & speed: How the US Navy is enabling software delivery from l...sonjaschweigert1
Rapid and secure feature delivery is a goal across every application team and every branch of the DoD. The Navy’s DevSecOps platform, Party Barge, has achieved:
- Reduction in onboarding time from 5 weeks to 1 day
- Improved developer experience and productivity through actionable findings and reduction of false positives
- Maintenance of superior security standards and inherent policy enforcement with Authorization to Operate (ATO)
Development teams can ship efficiently and ensure applications are cyber ready for Navy Authorizing Officials (AOs). In this webinar, Sigma Defense and Anchore will give attendees a look behind the scenes and demo secure pipeline automation and security artifacts that speed up application ATO and time to production.
We will cover:
- How to remove silos in DevSecOps
- How to build efficient development pipeline roles and component templates
- How to deliver security artifacts that matter for ATO’s (SBOMs, vulnerability reports, and policy evidence)
- How to streamline operations with automated policy checks on container images
zkStudyClub - Reef: Fast Succinct Non-Interactive Zero-Knowledge Regex ProofsAlex Pruden
This paper presents Reef, a system for generating publicly verifiable succinct non-interactive zero-knowledge proofs that a committed document matches or does not match a regular expression. We describe applications such as proving the strength of passwords, the provenance of email despite redactions, the validity of oblivious DNS queries, and the existence of mutations in DNA. Reef supports the Perl Compatible Regular Expression syntax, including wildcards, alternation, ranges, capture groups, Kleene star, negations, and lookarounds. Reef introduces a new type of automata, Skipping Alternating Finite Automata (SAFA), that skips irrelevant parts of a document when producing proofs without undermining soundness, and instantiates SAFA with a lookup argument. Our experimental evaluation confirms that Reef can generate proofs for documents with 32M characters; the proofs are small and cheap to verify (under a second).

Securing your Kubernetes cluster_ a step-by-step guide to success !KatiaHIMEUR1
Today, after several years of existence, an extremely active community and an ultra-dynamic ecosystem, Kubernetes has established itself as the de facto standard in container orchestration. Thanks to a wide range of managed services, it has never been so easy to set up a ready-to-use Kubernetes cluster.
However, this ease of use means that the subject of security in Kubernetes is often left for later, or even neglected. This exposes companies to significant risks.
In this talk, I'll show you step-by-step how to secure your Kubernetes cluster for greater peace of mind and reliability.

Effective Application Security in Software Delivery lifecycle using Deployment Firewall and DBOM
The modern software delivery process (or the CI/CD process) includes many tools, distributed teams, open-source code, and cloud platforms. Constant focus on speed to release software to market, along with the traditional slow and manual security checks has caused gaps in continuous security as an important piece in the software supply chain. Today organizations feel more susceptible to external and internal cyber threats due to the vast attack surface in their applications supply chain and the lack of end-to-end governance and risk management.
The software team must secure its software delivery process to avoid vulnerability and security breaches. This needs to be achieved with existing tool chains and without extensive rework of the delivery processes. This talk will present strategies and techniques for providing visibility into the true risk of the existing vulnerabilities, preventing the introduction of security issues in the software, resolving vulnerabilities in production environments quickly, and capturing the deployment bill of materials (DBOM).
Speakers:
Bob Boule
Robert Boule is a technology enthusiast with PASSION for technology and making things work along with a knack for helping others understand how things work. He comes with around 20 years of solution engineering experience in application security, software continuous delivery, and SaaS platforms. He is known for his dynamic presentations in CI/CD and application security integrated in software delivery lifecycle.
Gopinath Rebala
Gopinath Rebala is the CTO of OpsMx, where he has overall responsibility for the machine learning and data processing architectures for Secure Software Delivery. Gopi also has a strong connection with our customers, leading design and architecture for strategic implementations. Gopi is a frequent speaker and well-known leader in continuous delivery and integrating security into software delivery.

3. Background 70% over 65 will require some long-term care. Periodic personal care can cost $18,000/year. Medicare only covers skilled care. Most employer/private insurers only cover skilled care. The median income for seniors in 2009 was $18,001
11. Awareness System Alert System Inclusions of Family, Doctors, and the Senior Ability to Monitor Vitals Ability to Control Medical Scheduling Simplicity
15. Health System 50 million adults in the U.S. suffer from Arthritis. Child proof caps are the enemy. Memory problems may result in double dosing. Some medicines interact negatively. Medication needs to change with body vitals.

This system must be designed so that the senior can be as active or inactive in the system as possible. The in-home technology must be designed so that a person with no computer or technological experience will be able to understand and use the system. This system must promote active participation between doctors, family members, and those receiving the system.
The Xbox Kinect uses a technology similar to TOF (Time-of Flight) an encoded light signal is emitted, and the distortion of the signal as it bounces off of objects allows the system to create a map of the room. It can monitor the full-body motions of up to two people and cost $199.
This remote interface would also be developed for mobile devices (such as android and ios devices) , so the information is accessible anywhere.
For seniors that live in their own home, dropping or losing a pill is a common occurrence. Unfortunately, some seniors may forget whether or not they have taken a pill, which can lead to double-dosing and accidental overdose. This can be prevented by a simple request system. The pill dispenser can be programmed to require permission before dispensing extra pills. If a senior presses the button to receive and extra pill, the system will send a notification to the qualified family member, This person can simply accept of reject the request, or contact the senior for more information.
