2. • After receiving several presentations from various charities
from the University of Bedfordshire which included;
1. CHUMS: A child bereavement and trauma service for
young people
2. Keech Hospice: A care and bereavement service for all
ages
• We also took some time to research into charities that
might appeal to us. Some ideas included;
Transgender charities
Depression support groups
Elderly Care
Help for homeless
3. • After careful consideration and debate our group settled
on supporting the charity CHUMS- the Child bereavement
and Trauma service as it targeted our age group so we had
a greater ability to emphasise with the situations and
stories that have been dealt with by the charity.
• Also a few of our members have had support from the
charity personally so it also gave our group an upper hand
in terms of knowledge of the charity and connections.
4. As a group we delegated different roles to suiting individuals to ensure we could
maximise how much money and awareness we could raise:
• Bethany was good at organisation, so she took control of our budget and
spending.
• Elin was in control of social media as she had a lot of contacts and new how to get
the message across quickly and coherently.
• Jaz took the role of IT management, utilising her skills to help with social media
and fundraising videos.
• Cameron, Lewis, James and Dean took charge of organisation the quiz and venue
of our Quiz Night at Ashcroft High School
• Vanessa took control of making and designing the posters for the 3 main events
our group was holding.
• Um-E-Rabab helped with making posters and food for our cake sales.
• Sumayyah, Demi and Imran contacted businesses, restaurants and shops in town,
asking for prize donations or promotion for our events.
• Huda and Jema helped organise our coffee mornings and inform people about the
charity we were raising money for.
• Ayesha worked closely with CHUMS about using her art.
• Jess make cakes for our coffee morning at Bedford university.
5. As part of our generosity, we as a group also agreed to promote
some of the local businesses who kindly donated some products
towards our raffle on our facebook fundraising page.
10. • Our group also managed to gather a number of donations from
various shops in town to go towards our raffle; from backpacks to
bowling tickets.
Here are just some more of them…
