Relationships 101 Biblical Courtship and Marriagecebrooks50
These slides contain a brief introduction to biblical courtship. But be warned. What you are about to see may sound archaic, outdated, old-fashioned, ancient and very technical. Much of what Pastor Chuck Brooks is going to share is from a culture that has gone extinct in the United States but, be assured, the principals of courtship are found in God’s timeless and Holy Word. In its day biblical courtship kept many boys and girls from being sexually active before the age of 18. It kept millions of teenagers from getting pregnant annually. It kept pregnancies from ending in abortion. It kept many of our young women from becoming the victims of “date-rape.” Let’s revisit Relationships 101 from the biblical text.
The document discusses intimacy in marriage and why couples experience problems. It states that a lack of dating, courting and spending time together can lead to poor communication, misunderstandings, disappointment and arguments. This lack of emotional, spiritual and physical intimacy can cause marriages to become "parallel" with spouses no longer feeling like soulmates. The document provides advice on how regular dating, communication and understanding can help couples develop intimacy and unity through emotional, spiritual and physical closeness.

This document discusses various addictions that can distract from one's relationship with God, including substances, behaviors, and other people/things. It states that addictions take the place of God and waste the precious time one has been given. Various biblical passages are cited that encourage walking with God and resisting sinful lusts and behaviors. The key to overcoming addictions, it says, is completely trusting in God through Jesus Christ and putting on the new self rather than living according to former addictions.

Men must Aspire to These Essential QualitiesKIGUME Karuri
These are essential qualities that we get from the Scriptures to guide us in our lives here on earth. Since men many have failed in their respective roles, the society, nation and families have suffered. We need to do a proper evaluation of our roles as men and then do the needful amends. We have to set the best examples and particularly to the boy-child.
The world around us does not truly understand what love means separate and apart from God. God himself is love and without that model, mankind is left to construct its own definition which falls terribly short.
When we love as God instructs and models, then we understand its true sacrificial nature, contrasted to the selfish gratification of the world's definition.
Recognition of the difference will demand one of two outcomes - To either pick up your cross and bear it or be crushed by the weight of it...

This document discusses the ethical dilemmas physicians face in situations where harm may come to patients, such as executions, interrogations, or assisted suicides. Experts provide perspectives on reconciling these decisions with the Hippocratic Oath of "first, do no harm." They emphasize that physicians should not participate in or enable harm, and have a duty to speak out against unethical practices like torture. While assisted suicide may relieve patient suffering in some cases, the Hippocratic Oath prohibits actively ending a life. Physicians must follow professional ethics over legal or state demands that could violate their ethical responsibilities.

2. Headship in marriage involves servant-hood, with the husband using his authority to please, meet needs, and serve his wife. A husband's role is not to demand submission but to sacrifice his own wants to build up his partner.
3. Both spouses are called to submit to their roles, as headship can be difficult for husbands and submission can be difficult for wives. The biblical pattern is equally challenging for both parties.
Conflicts in marriage women lecture by nuh tahirNuhu Tahir
This document provides guidance on maintaining healthy relationships and resolving marital disputes in Islam. It discusses several topics:
1) Marital disputes often arise from lack of understanding of spousal rights, disrespect, miserliness, or favoring sons over daughters. Partners should be patient, avoid harshness, fulfill duties, and respect each other.
2) If disputes occur, the wife should understand the husband, and both should resolve issues privately through kindness, reconciliation and arbitration if needed. Destroying dignity, arguing in front of children, or rushing to courts should be avoided.
3) When differences cannot be resolved, the partners become vulnerable and guidance is needed to protect the relationship and family stability in accordance with

Submission is a loaded topic these days. We don't completely understand what true biblical submission means. Let's look at what Scriptures say about it. Listen to the sermon at http://ottawacoc.org/sermons/402823-submission/
You are your own worst enemy when you believe the world revolves around you and think too highly of yourself. Life is temporary and a gift from God, not something you are in control of. You must be humble and acknowledge God as your Creator in everything you do. Choosing to serve God by obeying his commandments and seeking his kingdom first leads to eternal life, while choosing selfish desires and rejecting God leads to death and separation from him.
1) The document discusses the concept of singleness and what it means to truly be single before entering a relationship. It asserts that one must be wholly fulfilled in God before being ready for marriage.
2) Many marital problems stem from partners who did not see themselves as unique individuals and who depended on others for happiness rather than maximizing their singleness.
3) To properly search for a mate, one must have fully focused their eyes on God and established a walk with Him, rather than frantically reaching out to fulfill needs. True searching involves finding someone aligned with one's destiny.
Year 2013 is now history and there are many issues that you and I have gone through particularly as men and we can look back and either applause or regret what we went through. We can do nothing about year 2013. We have the year 2014 with us now. What different ways are we going to use to become the real men this year?
Marriage and sanctity by Dr Ruth AfunwaRUTH AFUNWA
1) The document discusses marriage as a path to holiness or sanctity according to Christian teachings. It was established by God to unite a man and woman in a permanent bond.
2) Fidelity in marriage involves total, faithful, and exclusive love between spouses that is enduring, seeks to improve oneself, accepts ideals, and remains constant over time through challenges.
3) Modern challenges to healthy marriages include high divorce rates, secularization, and policies undermining the traditional definition of marriage. However, strong families that practice dialogue, forgiveness, quality time together, and prayer can overcome obstacles.

It seems that current missionary work requires spending a lot of money, preparing a lot of materials, and traveling to far away places, so that it feels like missionary work. But what was the result they brought back? It's just a lot of photos of activities, fun eating, drinking and some playing games. And then we have to do the same thing next year, never ending. The church once mentioned that a certain missionary would go to the field where she used to work before the end of his life. It seemed that if she had not gone, no one would be willing to go. The reason why these missionary work is so difficult is that no one obeys God’s words, and the Bible is not the main content during missionary work, because in the eyes of those who do not obey God’s words, the Bible is just words and cannot be connected with life, so Reading out God's words is boring because it doesn't have any life experience, so it cannot be connected with human life. I will give a few examples in the hope that this situation can be changed. A375

3. Confirmation
• “Marriage is the God-appointed and
legitimate union of man and woman
in the hope of having children, or at
least for the purpose of avoiding
fornication and sin, and living to the
glory of God.” – Martin Luther
4. High School
• “God must be recognized as its
Founder, and on bended knees one
should call upon Him with humility and
in faith to grant a companion…the rest
can be taken care of by common sense,
by talking things over with the parents
and listening to their advice.”
5. Pre-Marital Counseling
• “A wife is indeed to live according to
the direction of her husband; what
he bids and commands is to be done.
But he is also to see to it that he
treats his wife with tenderness and
reason.”
6. • “You are not to use the authority you
possess to do just as you please. You are
her husband in order to help, support,
and protect her, not to destroy her.”
• “If wives are disobedient, self-willed, and
domineering, a man hates his own home
and feels as if he is going to war and
entering the enemies’ camp when he
steps into his house.”
7. Troubled Times
• “He who takes a wife is not entering a
life of ease but is creating trouble for
himself.”
• “It is impossible to keep peace between
man and woman in family life if they do
not condone and overlook each other’s
faults.”
8. First Child
• “This is truly an immense burden, full of
great cares and labors. But that is why God
created you; to be a husband or a wife and
to learn to bear these troubles. People who
do not like children are swine, dunces, and
blockheads, not worthy to be called men
and women, because they despise the
blessing of God, the Creator and Author of
marriage.”
9. Infidelity and Divorce
• “If the guilty person is humbled and
reformed, the innocent person
should let himself be reconciled and
should forgive him in Christian love.”
Editor's Notes
Be fruitful and multiply, 1Co 7, Not for our own pleasure
A godly spouse is a gift from God not from skilled planning, emphasize Godly, parents also have a responsibility
Eve was made FOR Adam, because Adam was FULFILLED by Eve – Neither is to be independent or self-serving
Not just Luther, Gen 3, Eph 5, 1Pt 3, beware hermeneutical principle that waylaid ELCA
It’s hard to preach an upbeat sermon about marriage in a country where any given wedding has a 50/50 chance of ending in divorce. I like happy stories as much as the next guy, but let’s be honest, realistically Hans and Maria’s marriage at some point will hit some rocks…
It is noteworthy that Adam and Eve were naked and they felt no shame, not because they were both supermodels, but because they were not critical of one another.
Be fruitful and multiply, Hg 2 “because He was seeking Godly offspring.”
