your chairs and pick up pieces of papers on
the floor.
Then you may now sit.
Since it’s my first time to be in front of the

B. Reviewing Previous Lesson or
Presenting
the New Lesson
Are you ready for our discussion today?
But before we start, who can still remember our
last topic yesterday?
Since you already tackled it, what is Parallel
Structure?
Very good!
Parallel structure in writing refers to using
words, phrases, or clauses that are similar or
identical in form, structure, or sound. Not only
does it improve readability, but also shows that
two or more ideas are equal in importance.
Who can give me an example of Parallel
Structure in a sentence?
That’s right!
Yes, sir!
It was all about Using
Parallel Structures Sir!
.
Parallel Structure is used in
Sentences to promote
readability as well as to create
a common level of importance
between ideas.
Yes sir!
She likes riding bike, jogging,
and running.
C. Establishing Purpose of
the Lesson Since you already knew how to use parallel
structure. We will now move to our next topic.
In this lesson you will be able to:
a. Differentiate fact and opinion;
b. Write examples of facts and opinion;
c. Explains the importance of the use of
facts and opinions in day to day lives.
Are you all ready to listen?
Students are listening
attentively
Yes sir!
D. Presenting
Examples/Instances of
the New Lesson
I will give you situations, then you will tell me
if it’s a fact or an opinion.
Bong Bong Marcos is our President.
Is it a fact or an opinion?
Very Good!
Jose Rizal is our National Hero.
Is it a fact or an opinion?
Very Good!
My birthday cake is delicious.
It is a fact or an opinion?
Why is it opinion?
Yes, that’s right.
Another example, if I say my dog is friendly.
Okay sir!
Fact sir!
Fact sir!
Opinion sir!
Because it was your only
belief Sir that it is delicious.
Opinion sir! Because we
don’t know if your dog is
really friendly.
E. Discussing New
Concepts and Practicing
New Skill #1
Class did you know that those examples are
examples of our topic for today?
Now, to start our discussion the title our
lesson for today is about Fact and Opinion.
What is fact?
Please read everybody.
A thing that is known or proved to be true.
It means the statements is true.
How about opinion?
What is opinion?
Kindly read.
A belief or attitude about something that isn't
necessarily based on facts.
So it means it needs evidence.
Now I will give an example.
December 25 is a Christmas day.
It is a fact or an opinion?
Dogs are better than cats.
My classmate is talkative.
Good job!
Yes sir!
Students are listening
attentively.
Students are reading.
Students are reading.
Fact sir!
Opinion sir!
Opinion sir!
F. Discussing New
Concepts and Practicing
New Skill #2
And now, since already know what is fact and
opinion, let us now learn the difference between
fact and opinion.
Facts are:
 things that we know to be true based on
evidence from observation.
 can be verified or proved to be true,
 research or evidence confirms,
 the place where you get your
information/facts is a source
 opinion form experts can be factual.
Example:
The doctors recently discovered that
COVID-19 airborne.
Students are listening
attentively.
While in opinions, on the other hand:
 are beliefs or views that can’t be proven,
 they are not based on any evidence,
 are expressions of judgment or belief
about something
 may not have evidence to support,
 language use can clue you to an opinion:
“I feel, think”, “In my opinion”, “It has been
claimed”, “never, always”, “It is wonderful,
terrible, dreadful”
For example, “I think I am handsome.” Or “In
my opinion, everyone should be happy.”
Are those an example of opinion?
Now who can give an example of a fact?
Very good!
How about an example of opinion?
So, do you understand now the difference
between facts and opinions?
Very good!
Yes sir!
Yes sir! Because of the words
“I think” and “In my opinion”
The fishes’ lives in the water.
My classmate is pretty.
Yes sir!
G. Developing
Mastery
Now let’s have an activity. I will divide the
class into 5 groups. Each group will make 3
examples of fact and another 3 examples of
opinion.
Then each group will have 1 representative to
read their sentences here in front.
Is that clear?
I’ll give you 10 minutes to do your activity as a
group.
You may start now.
(After 10 minutes)
Times up! Group 1 kindly present your
sentences using parallel structure here in front.
Yes sir!
All groups are now doing the
activity
Group 1 representative is
reading their sentences
Followed by group 2, 3, 4 and 5.
Well done students!
Let’s all give ourselves a round of applause.
Group 2-5 representative
follows
H. Finding Practical
Application of Concepts
and Skills in Daily Living
By the way, why do we need to know how to
differentiate the fact and opinion?
Very good!
Sir because it is essential for accurate
comprehension and
critical thinking. Facts can
be verified by evidence,
while opinions are
statements of belief, attitude,
value, judgment, or feeling
that cannot be proven true or
false.
l. Making generalization
and abstraction about the
lesson
So again, for a short recap.
What is Fact?
Very good!
What is Opinion?
Very good!
A belief or attitude about
something that isn't necessarily
based on facts.
A belief or attitude about
