This document describes Elisa Slater Acosta's process for assessing one-shot library instruction sessions at Loyola Marymount University. She uses a worksheet, LibGuide, and rubric to assess student learning. Assessment results are used to improve instruction, with a focus on modules that scored lowest. Methods like surveys of librarians and instructors helped identify ways to simplify material. While results were mixed, assessment led to clearer teaching goals and expectations.
