2. Growing up, I remember myself being enthusiastic and curious about my
surroundings. I’m always up for taking new challenges and try to
perform my best. During my final year at school as the school pupil
president I have been chosen to organize science fair. Initially, I
collaborated with a group of teachers and students to classify the
presentations into 4 main categories and have assigned student
representatives for each category. Apart from the technical aspects, we
have also worked to provide better logistics to both participants and
visitors by allocating volunteers to each section. There were
challenges during this period but I believe that decisions made through
active participation and democratic groups can solve unintended
negative situations. And until now, I have shown good efficiency as a
team member through various successful adventures. Personally and
professionally whenever I’m confronted with a new challenge, I believe
that I’m confident to face it and try to bring my best through
analytical thinking, intensive learning, dedication and being open to
discussions and suggestions. I certainly make a check regarding how I’m
progressing towards my goals and positively strive for excellence.

3. 학생회에서 자원 봉사활동을 하던 중 도시의 맹인 학교를 방문하여 기본적인 생활 시설을 갖추고 있는지
확인하고, 그들을 위해 기금 모금 프로그램을 진행할 계획을 세웠습니다. 학교에 들어가기 전에 우리는
아이들에게 동기를 부여해야한다고 생각했습니다. 학교에 들어서는 순간, 나는 가장 행복한 사람을

During my Masters at KAIST, I had a chance to work within team on real
life projectGAIA project (RE201402059). Our main goal was to completely
remove pollutants in water by developing a new catalyst and designing
reactors and checking its applicability. But everything should be done
considering cost minimization and reusability of the catalyst. It has
been very challenging at every stage of this project, but this is when
I understood working in a team can help to achieve the goal. From the
very start we had discussions in our team regarding what materials we
would use, purchase and supply duties, technical trainings needed and
how we would do the testing. Although each of us have their own duties,
we made sure that everyone is aware of each other’s roles and technical
aspects are known to everyone in the team. Apart from the technical
knowledge, working in a team helped me develop a professional
discipline and a perspective to think from the other party. During the
final stages, when we are testing at the site our major focus was to
minimize the cost and retrieve the catalyst for next cycles, since
having paid careful attention at every stage we developed a method
which can stabilize the catalyst at any conditions so that it can
retrieved and used for next cycles. Our work was also appreciated for
being cost effective and sustainable.

course work, I was majorly interested in ‘Process engineering
economics’ where cost estimation and planning play a major role for the
profitability of a chemical industry. Engineers aim to optimize
everything, they want to get the best possible outcome by using least
possible resources and Engineers with leadership and management skills
can greatly contribute to the production management of any industry.
Lotte chemical envisions to become a global company. To be a part of
this globalization is something which I’m enthusiastic about. The
position and Industry I’m applying will a right platform for me apply
