We have chosen to film the opening of our crime drama in the front room of a typical suburban house in South London because it provides an indoor location that will not be affected by weather and allows us to easily bring in equipment. This setting fits the crime drama convention of taking place in normal houses that audiences can relate to. The room has large windows and light walls that will allow us to film in natural light and make the opening seem higher quality, and we will use various camera angles and shots to make the single setting interesting and create an appropriate atmosphere.
