Location-based mobile games can be used to raise awareness of social issues and encourage donations for causes. Revolution Flame creates such games, including one in Barcelona to help homeless entrepreneurs. Their presentation discussed using games to develop skills through collaboration and creativity. It proposed making geographic information system (GIS) maps the battleground for games to spread awareness of issues. Case studies like "My Life as a Refugee" and "iHobo" showed how games can illustrate the complex issues around homelessness and refugees. The presentation concluded that combining sustainable game design with location data can create real social impact.
