Lloyd Brown was the editorial page editor for the Florida Times Union Jacksonville paper for over 42 years. He was found to have plagiarized parts of at least three of his editorial pages from 1996. As a result, he resigned from his position. Later, he was offered another writing job by the governor of Florida but declined due to the controversy from his plagiarism. Plagiarism remains a widespread problem as it is easy for people to copy and paste information from the internet rather than taking the time to write original content.
