Goals are visions or ideas that you wish to become reality. They are things
that you would like to do for yourself, your friends, your children, your marriage,
or your community. Goals are directions and plans. Goals are big and small
success stories.
Goals get you motivated to make it happen. They can be long or short term, they
can be as simple as planning a vacation, a birthday party, buying a car, or passing
all of your classes, it depends on you.
Setting goals helps you to make a commitment to yourself; it’s a symbol of
structure, motivation, and direction in your life.
Setting goals is not always as easy as we would like to think. You have to be very
clear on what you want.
But before you have a goal you have an idea. Someone had the thought that he
was tired of sitting on the floor and as that thought grew, the invention of the
chair came about. There was a vision, a goal, a plan and an outcome.
Goals can be complicated. You have to decide whether you’re willing to
invest the time, energy, money, or whatever’s necessary to make this goal your
reality. So before you rush off into writing down a bunch of goals think about it
seriously.
Answer these questions below let’s see where you are with your goals
● Where do you see yourself six months from now?
● Where do you see yourself one year from now?
● Where do you see yourself three years from now?
● How do you feel about where you are in life right now?
● Is there anything you would like to begin doing now?
● What is stopping you from taking that step?
● List three things that you’re good at?

How do you turn those ideas and thoughts into goals?
Well first: are you ready to do something different?
Are you ready to add more success stories to your life
resume?

If so, then let’s get started.
.
Great! Let’s continue.
When beginning your goals, start with the one that you would like to
achieve first. Write that one down in the space provided below. Bear in
mind that some goals are immediate while others may be long term.
Always list the goals that can, realistically, be achieved right now or
within the coming months.
1. First goal.__________________________________
Is this something that you have the time, patience, and endurance to
accomplish?
2. How important is to you?_____________________
3. Keep in mind when setting your goals, to give yourself a timeframe.
Envision yourself after having accomplished this goal !
How do you feel?
Hopefully you feel fantastic, and successful. This is how you should feel every
time you think about your goals. This type of feeling will only help you to
continue to push forward.
Developing a plan of action:
The great thing about having a goal, is that only you can see it
in its completed form.
● Now that you are ready to get started with your goals:
1. How much thought have you put into it ?
2. Are serious about it ?
● Get a notebook, write out each goal that you would like to complete
a) Outline what you need, to complete the goal.
b) Do your research.
c) Write out your steps.
d) Put a timeframe next to each step. This will help you to
stay on task and to focus.
e) Do something twice or three times per week toward your
goal. It can be something as small as making a phone call.
Just make sure you do something.
f) Create a checklist.
• See example below:
GET MY DRIVER’S LICENSE
● (Goal) Get the driver’s manual from the Department
Motor Vehicles (3/1/2014)
● What are the steps
● Study the manual 3x per week
● Make an appointment to take the exam.
● Schedule driving classes
● Take the exam and pass the class.
TAKE INVESTMENT CLASSES AND REAL ESTATE CLASSES.
● (Goal) Take investment classes and real estate classes
● What are the steps?
● Research location, schedule, and fee for class (3/1/2014)
● Register for the class
● Begin the class
● Complete the class
● Get your certificate
Always give yourself a date of completion
Always write down every step in the correct order.
● If you’re a person who has never developed goals, time frames, or check
lists, your natural instinct would probably be to quit and then start again.
This will happen because you’re doing something new. When this happens
you must keep reminding yourself of your endgame. Don’t beat yourself
up, just get right back on track. Remind yourself of why you want to
achieve this goal.
● Keep a copy of your goals with you at all times.
● Set reminders on your calendars, computers, tablets etc.
● If you want to really achieve these goals, you have to do the work.
● Stick a reminder on your mirror or your refrigerator.
● REMEMBER: Think about the end result.
● Don’t concentrate on the details themselves, concentrate on the reasons
for the details.
● All of this is only impossible if you keep jumping on and off of the fence.
Decide that you are going to stick to it and keep pushing forward.
Points to Remember:
● Goals are attainable
● Goals are both large and small success stories
● Goals are visions and ideas
● Goals can require an investment of time, energy, or money
● Goals give you structure, motivation and direction.
READ YOUR GOALS DAILY
● Complete two to three tasks weekly, towards your goals.
Envision your end result, feel great about it.
