2. OBJECTIVE:
• Students will recognize rhyme and stress patterns listening to a song. They also reflect on the
vocabulary and grammar learnt
CONTENTS:
• Song “Dancing in the Moonlight”
• Reordering paragraphs, filling in gaps, rhyme, intonation and phonetic activities.
DESCRIPTION
• Pre-listening activity: Students are asked to look at the title of the song the are about to hear and
previous knowledge is elicited. Eg. Do you know this song? Look at the title, do recognize it? Do you
know the singer? What do you think the song is about by looking at the title ?
• While-listening: Students are asked to re-order the scrambled lyrics . Once reorder they read it and
check predicitons . The, students are asked to listen again at the song to fill in the missing words.
• After-listening. Students are asked to recognise the present simpen and continuous, and the adjectives
in the song. They find five adjectives. After that , the song is sang as whole class activity
• Phonetics: Different verses from the song are taken and used to demonstrate sentence stress. This
demonstration is aid by means of stress circles. Once the difference and the different patterns are made
clear comprehension is checked. Students also look up words that rhyme.
