This case-control study examined the lipid profile in patients with subclinical hypothyroidism (SCH) compared to healthy controls. The results indicated significantly higher mean serum triglycerides and very low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) levels in SCH patients, while no significant differences were found in total cholesterol, low-density lipoprotein (LDL), or high-density lipoprotein (HDL). The study suggests a potential link between dyslipidemia and SCH, advocating for early diagnosis and treatment to prevent progression to overt hypothyroidism.
