- Cellulite is different to normal fat – adipocytes become enclosed in fibrotic tissue and can’t ‘communicate’ with the rest of the body, so triglycerides don’t get released from these areas. Need to improve microcirculation (best done with vacuum massage and RF). Good treatments to do following US.

- FYI Children can hear higher frequencies than adults (anti-crowd devices, phone rings etc) Bats use US up to 100kHz Lipaway uses 40kHz. Lower frequencies even better at cavitation and deeper penetration but too noisy (Get cavitation from 20-100kHz)
- With traditional lipo, you actually remove fat cells – but still get free TG in the blood. Some of these TG are removed by macrophages. Fat hangs about in interstitual space (ie don’t have to worry about fat embolisms). A portion of the fat will be metabolised by the liver and just go back into adipocytes – they can’t just go back into the cells (they have to be converted to fatty acids and glycerol first of all) If there is a blood exam following treatment, you DO NOT get raised TG levels in the blood (even following liposuction when TG levels are up to 10 times higher. Even higher in Smart-lipo treatments) Fat can only be eliminated by: Digestion Urinary systems Remetabolism by the liver Phagocytosis
- The body stores triglycerides (TG) in adipocytes (fat cells). The number of Adipocytes is fixed – they simply grow in volume as fat is laid down in the body This process DOES NOT DESTROY FAT CELLS. The walls of the adipocytes (fat cells) are not ruptured and destroyed, instead, the permeability of the walls in increased, allowing the transport of triglycerides out of the cells. Temperature has an effect on the phenomenon of cavitation, because it alters so-called vapour tension. If the temperature increases, so does the vapour, thereby enhancing the effect of cavitation.
- Macrophages eat TGs over 2-3 months (final result may take some time)
- Some clinics inject physiological liquids to aid with hydration
- 30% won’t get good results – may be due to limited hydration
- In theory, you might break some blood vessels, hence contraindications for vascular condtions
