Cutaway photography is a technique that allows photographers to capture images that reveal the internal structures or mechanisms of objects. This is done by digitally removing parts of the exterior to expose what lies beneath. Photographers use 3D modeling software to virtually cut away sections of objects and composite the revealed interior structures back with the remaining exterior to produce photographs that educate viewers about how things work from the inside out.
