This document reports on a study that examined the relationship between health status, health literacy, and internet use among rural, low-income mothers. The study found that Spanish-speaking mothers were less likely than English-speaking mothers to use the internet to find health information. Mothers who used the internet to find information about their child's health rated their child's health status higher. The study also found that children's health was significantly related to mothers needing assistance reading print health materials.
