Liliana Gelman is an Argentine artist born in 1959 who works in photography, painting, and visual communication. She holds a degree in Architecture from the University of Buenos Aires. Gelman lived in Haifa, Israel for 6 years before returning to Argentina in 2008. Her work has been exhibited widely in solo and group shows in Argentina, Israel, Spain, and the United States. Gelman's photographs explore themes of language, writing, and the relationship between images and text. She teaches visual communication and creativity and her work is included in both public and private collections.

27. Liliana Gelman
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina in 1959.
Graduated in Architecture from the University of Buenos Aires.
She worked as designer, studied painting at Juan Doffo's workshop in Buenos Aires, and attended
several research seminars about image and writing.
In 1998 began to explore the use of photography as an artistic means of expression.
Her work has been published in catalogues, magazines and book covers and is included in private
collections in Argentina, Brazil, Israel and U.S.A. and in the National Maritime Museum, Israel.
She is a teacher in the visual communication and creativity areas.
After 6 years of living in Haifa, Israel, she returns to Argentina in 2008.
