CSS Group’s Yacht & Marine
Logistics division were
recently appointed to
handle a yacht delivery from
Jacksonville, Florida to Jebel
Ali Port in the UAE. The
yacht, named Reem 1, was
a luxury one of a kind yacht
that was built in accordance
to the owner’s specifications
and requirements, and
measures 51 meters in length
with a weight gross registered
tonnage (GRT) of 475 tonnes.
The luxury vessel was
designed for a VVIP residing
in Dubai, and the CSS Yacht
& Marine Logistics division
took great care to ensure that
every detail of the delivery
was taken care off and given
the highest priority to ensure
safe and careful delivery of
the mega yacht.
Strategically headquartered in
Dubai, Consolidated Shipping
Services L.L.C. has fully
operational bases in Jebel Ali
Free Zone and Dubai Airport
Freezone, as well as benefits
from a further eight offices
in the UAE alone to allow
the smoothest and specialist
on-the-ground support. The
company provides freight
forwarding and logistics
via air, land and sea, which
is handled by over 750
employees working across its
network of offices around
the world, including
locations in key areas
within the UAE and
throughout the Middle
East.
The CSS Yacht &
Marine Logistics
role in this task was
to liaise with the
VVIP client and
his legal team to prepare
the yacht for transportation
from Florida, bring in a
special heavy lift vessel,
design a lifting and discharge
plan, identify specialized
equipment for lifting and
source professional load
masters both in the USA
and at Jebel Ali, UAE. Given
the clientele, and the size of
the vessel it was extremely
important that the entire
execution was thought
through and every possible
scenario planned for.
“With yacht and marine
logistics it is important that
the service providers be
prepared for any scenario
and is aware of the rules
and regulations, especially
when providing solutions
across continent. The
delivery of this vessel and
the immense satisfaction
expressed by the VVIP client
is a true testament to the
care and detail that CSS
Yacht & Marine Logistics
division extends to all its
clients in the region and
globally, and establishes us
as truly he one stop shop
for all yacht and marine
logistic requirements,” said
Ken Dinnadge, VP-Business
Development, CSS.
In addition to the
transportation it was
important that CSS were
able to coordinate with
several local and government
authorities’ both in the
United States of America and
the United Arab Emirates,
from coast guards and
immigration to insurance
brokers and stevedores.
