This document describes a study on light pollution conducted with students. It involves comparing the number of stars visible to ancient astronomers to those visible today using software and historical accounts. Students observe constellations like Hydra and compare the number of stars they see to descriptions by astronomers like Eratosthenes. They use a light pollution plugin for Google Earth to analyze pollution levels anciently and now. The study aims to reveal how light pollution has impacted night sky observation over centuries through hands-on investigation and evidence gathering.
