Li-Fi is a new technology that uses visible light communication and LED bulbs to transmit data wirelessly. Li-Fi works by varying the intensity of LED lights to transmit data, with on representing 1 and off representing 0. Researchers have achieved speeds up to 10 Gbps in testing, over 100 times faster than average Wi-Fi speeds. Li-Fi could enable high-speed internet access anywhere there is light and help make the Internet of Things a reality.
