[Voice of America - VoA] Presiden
Jokowi Luncurkan Program '35 Ribu
MW Listrik untuk Indonesia'
YOGYAKARTA — Presiden Joko
Widodo meresmikan peluncuran
program "35.000 Mega Watt Listrik
untuk Indonesia" untuk lima tahun ke
depan, Senin siang (4/5/2015).
Peluncuran program tersebut
dipusatkan di Goa Cemara kawasan
pantai Samas di Bantul, Daerah
Istimewa Yogyakarta.
"(Selama) 70 tahun Indonesia merdeka
hanya membangun 50.000 MW. Ini lima
tahun, 35.000 MW. Kenapa saya optimis
dan saya meyakini ini bisa dilakukan,
karena memang regulasinya dulu
banyak yang ruwet. Yang kedua,
manajemen yang ada di PLN ini juga
sudah diperbaiki, disederhanakan.
Kemudian perijinan juga sudah
dilakukan. Pembebasan lahan jika ada
masalah, saya sampaikan tolong lapor
ke gubernur selesaikan,” kata Presiden
Jokowi.

[Voice of America - VoA] Yogyakarta
Susun Perda Energi Terbarukan
Pertama di Indonesia
~ Yogyakarta relatif maju dalam
program pemanfaatan energi
terbarukan, karena didukung oleh
ketersediaan tenaga ahli di bidang ini,
di tingkat lokal. Salah satunya adalah
Ahmad Agus Setiawan, Asisten
Profesor Sistem dan Perencanaan
Energi Terbarukan, di Fakultas
Teknik Fisika, UGM. Ahmad adalah
satu pengkampanye aktif pemanfaatan
energi terbarukan di Indonesia.
“Semua potensi kita pertimbangkan.
Sustainability (keberlanjutan) juga
harus kita pertimbangkan, termasuk
dampak sosialnya. Tidak boleh
teknologi itu masuk ke masyarakat
tetapi dengan “paksaan”. Jadi, sisi
sosial juga masuk dalam program ini,
seperti halnya mengedukasi
masyarakat. Renewable energy
(energy terbarukan) yang
diedukasikan oleh Jerman dan
Amerika Serikat di era Obama, itu
bahkan bisa membuat masyarakatnya
memilih energi yang lebih mahal, atas
kesadaran sendiri,” kata Ahmad Agus
Setiawan.
9. Research Opportunities on RENEWABLE ENERGY TOPICS

Australia Awards Scholarships – providing power to remote communities
Dr. Ahmad Agus Setiawan studied for his PhD at Curtin University in Perth under an Australia Awards
Scholarship (then Australian Development Scholarship) where he devised a system for providing power to
communities scattered across Indonesia’s 17,000 islands which caught the eye of Indonesia’s Ministry of
Public Works. For more information on the Australia Awards Scholarships visit the website:
