This document provides 5 ways to embrace sexual diversity based on recommendations from the American Psychological Association. The recommendations are:
1. Strive for self-determination and control over your own identity rather than conforming to preconceived notions. Differences are not undesirable.
2. Explore your own sexuality without limiting yourself to stereotypes and focus on your strengths.
3. Manage and reduce stress from stigma by understanding its effects and using active coping strategies.
4. Reconnect with religion by reflecting on its unconditional love and using faith to positively cope with any conflicts.
5. Stay social by surrounding yourself with an accepting community and participating in charitable acts.

MB’s post states the following:Top of Form
Post a Discussion in which you explain how considerations about clients' worldviews, including their spirituality or religious convictions, might affect your interactions with them. Provide at least two specific examples.
Social workers work with populations of people with different beliefs spiritually and religiously. As social workers we must learn to respect someone else’s values and beliefs. We also need to learn that people’s different values and beliefs influence their behaviors and interactions with people. We need to make sure that we respect other beliefs and not act on our own personal beliefs when working with clients. We need to be mindful of other cultures and their beliefs on such things like abortion and the roles of women. As a social worker I may believe personally that a woman should have the right to abort a baby but my client may believe abortions are not an option and may go against their religious beliefs. We must be mindful not to force our views on them. Another example would be in certain cultures they believe that the man is the head of the household and all communication and decisions will be made through the man. As the social worker we must honor that and not disrespect that by doing the opposite of what they believe just because its “normal or right” to us.
Explain one way your own spirituality or religious convictions might support your work with a client, and one barrier it might present.
As a social worker I must put my bias to the side and not let it get in the way of my professionalism. As a Christian I should not judge others this would be key in social work practice. This belief would remind me to stay open minded about others and why they may behave they way they do. A barrier would be me being judgmental and continuously bringing up my beliefs, forcing it on them and not respecting them. This is wrong and could cause a client to not feel comfortable or respected.
Finally, share one strategy for applying an awareness of spirituality to social work practice in general.
One strategy for applying awareness of spirituality to social work practice is knowledge and education. According to Zastrow and Kirst-Ashman (2016), “The goal of incorporating religious and spiritual beliefs in social work curricula should include a broad array of knowledge of many different religious and spiritual beliefs,.

Sociology of Religion
From the meeting with my companions on the course work, has extraordinarily affected my view on the idea of a sociology of religion. To begin with is the meaning of sociology which is the study of the beliefs, practices and organizational types of religion using the instruments and techniques for the training of sociology. This target investigation may incorporate the utilization of both quantitative strategies (studies, surveys, statistic and evaluation investigation) and subjective methodologies, for example, member perception, talking, and examination of recorded, verifiable and narrative materials (Rose, 2013).
Sociologists of religion study each part of religion from what is accepted to how people act while in worship and keeping in mind that experienced their expressed feelings. They concentrate the changing part of religion both in the general population field (political, financial and media) and in private relational connections. Worldwide religious pluralism and strife, the nature of religious factions and orders, the impact of religion on racial and the impact of the media and present day culture have on religious practices are all points of enthusiasm for the ebb and flow sociology of religion research.
As pointed out from the interview and discussion, one can become religious because of impact from guardians and more often than not at an extremely youthful age since at that age you are destined to trust wonders and tall tales. That, as well as human personality, is made so that you really need to trust that, human personality searches for appearing well and good out of anything regardless of the possibility that it shouldn't have any sense whatsoever (e.g. Constellations).
That is not generally the case, however. Now and then there are feeble disapproved of individuals who lost the track of life and need to feel "set up" once more. They neglect to acknowledge life as it seems to be. They require something that will support them in life, something that will give significance to them once more; that something happens to be religion. They genuinely trust they are being aided by God and they are in good shape in life, their life has to mean again now. That is the best misleading impact at any point watched.
In some cases, there are individuals who only have a tendency to be fairly religious in regard for their folks or just because "why not", but rather those, as a rule, won’t go to chapel frequently if not in the slightest degree and are the best sort of religious individuals ...

Question #1 Please choose ONE of the following to make an origi.docxsimonlbentley59018
Question #1:
Please choose ONE of the following to make an original response. Focus on quality, CRITICAL THINKING, sharing YOUR perspectives/ideas with a little bit of support for your assertions.
Violence and Women
:
Violence against females is a worldwide issue. What types of gender roles, cultural beliefs, political systems, and SOCIALIZATIONS influence and tolerate violence against women? Think deeply; what types of things are said or behaviors condoned or tolerated that cause, promote, or sustain violence against women? Provide support.
Violence and Men:
Violence against men, between men, and by men is a worldwide issue (no male bashing here, just going by prevalence rates). What types of gender roles, cultural beliefs, political systems, socialization processes, impact violence for men? Specifically, what do we say and do as a culture (not necessary you) to teach, condone, sustain certain masculine characteristics that could lead to violence? What can be done to help counteract unhealthy aspects of socialization? Pay attention to why you think women may have less rates of violence due to psychological or socialization processes.
Violence against non-binary
(including but not limited to binary transgender, non-binary transgender, non-binary in general, agender, bigender, gender fluid). What types of gender expected roles, cultural beliefs, socialization processes, attitudes, political systems, religious systems, and misinformation/myths contribute to violence towards non-binary persons? How does biopsychosocial scientific evidence challenge misconceptions? Include in your critical thought important measures needed to reduce violence.
Helping and Gender:
Discuss whether or not you see gender differences in helping behaviors of males vs. females. Be specific. Some examples: Are men more kind or females? How about instrumental vs. communicative style? Which gender might be rewarded more for specific helping behaviors: do we reward men for doing the dishes than women? Do we say men are instrumental ignoring the vast amount of "doing to show love" by women? Do we praise women for being more communicative in helping others while shaming men for having male to male "heart to hearts talks?" Does what we do, along gender lines, in terms of helping on a daily basis show a societal value and expectation that is gender influenced? Ex: Helping by caring for others, helping by protecting, helping by serving in different roles, help by risking life?
Self Efficacy
: Elaborate on the concepts of self-efficacy and gender. What aspects of gender identity or socialization may impact a person's sense of confidence, ability, and mastery? Elaborate and provide examples.
Sexuality as vulnerability:
Compare and contrast the concept of sexuality as a weakness/vulnerability between males, females, non-binary and those with non-hetero attractions. Provide some specific examples and let me see your critical thinking. Are male, female, and/or no.

Quote Applied to Human Sexuality
"All happy families are alike, every unhappy family is unhappy in its way." Whoa, that is quite a statement, insightful, and makes you ponder. I believe this quote can be related to sexuality. People compare themselves to one another, their bodies, accomplishments, grades, and even their sex life. Girlfriends and Bros have their conversations, " I wish my girl did that" or " Wow, your man is so romantic, I never get that treatment." My administrative supervisor shared with us one day that the entire 42 years of marriage, she never experienced an orgasm. He did what he had to do, rolled over and went to sleep. She explained that back then (she is 65), that is the way it was. My supervisor never experienced an orgasm from her husband, which caused her to be dissatisfied with her sex life. However, another female could have different reasons for not being satisfied with hers.
Path to Positive Sexuality
Sexuality is important to our lives, it is one of the ways we experience physical pleasure but also good for our overall health and wellbeing (Murray, Pope & Willis, 2017). People will have different perspectives on what is satisfying; that is why there are fetishes and different sexual positions. I am sure some bitter housewives or husbands sit at home with a curiosity of unknown pleasure that they ...

CONTEXT
Prejudice occurs all over the world, often contributing to violence, oppression, and other forms of harm. What are the distinctions between stereotypes, discrimination, and prejudice? When do stereotypes become prejudices? Racism and sexism occur across races, ages, genders, religions, physical appearances, sexual orientations, and so on. Prejudice creates emotional, physical, and economic harm to individuals, groups, and society as a whole. But what factors create prejudice, and how can prejudice be reduced? What role do media play in both maximizing and minimizing stereotypes and prejudices? By examining how prejudices are cultivated and the damage they cause, we can begin to see how we might overcome and prevent prejudice.

Human sexual behavior is based on physiology and psychology. Physiological basis, that is, the regulation and control of sex hormones in receptors, is also affected by many other factors such as physical conditions and drugs. On the other hand, human sexual behavior is influenced and controlled by psychological, social and cultural factors. In a certain social and historical context, human sexual behavior usually conforms to the social concept of sex at that time. Throughout history, society's attitude towards sex is like a continuum. One end of the spectrum is based on the attitude of sexual imprisonment and strict control of sexual behavior, while the other end is based on the attitude of sexual indulgence, sexual liberation and advocating complete sexual freedom. These two extreme attitudes are harmful to people's physical and mental health and the healthy development of society. Sexual psychology is to study the influence of the development of human sexual behavior and sexual civilization on modern human sexual behavior from the psychological point of view, theory and method, and to study human sexual physiological development, sexual psychological development, gender role socialization process, marriage, family and sexual health, etc. Sexual psychology refers to the psychological state and process related to sexual characteristics, sexual desire and sexual behavior on the basis of sexual physiology. It also includes the psychological state of communication with the opposite sex, marriage and love. Sexual physiology is the biological basis of the development of sexual psychology. The obstacles or defects in the development of sexual physiology will make the development of sexual psychology deviate. Sexual mental health is an important part of human health that can not be ignored, and it is getting more and more attention.
The difference between sexual orientation and gender identity is that sexual orientation is a kind of sexual preference that has nothing to do with gender. It refers to the tendency of physical and psychological impulses caused by what kind of people you are attracted to, who you like to have intimate sex with and which type of people. For example, they prefer men, women, fat, thin, tall or short and so on. Under this big concept, including what we usually call homosexuality, heterosexuality, bisexuality and so on. It is generally believed that sexual orientation is not a subjective and deliberate choice. The reasons may include many factors, including heredity, psychology and environment. Gender identity is the subjective feeling of self psychology: "I am a man, or a.

5 Ways to Embrace Sexual Diversity
Same-sex
marriage is one
small step; take
the giant leap!
In the last 2 decades
research has shown that
sexual behavior, sexual
attraction, and sexual
orientation are labeled
and expressed in many
different ways, some of
which are fluid (APA,
2009). Expressions of
sexuality are complex,
involving characteristics
of attraction, behavior,
emotions, and identity.
In fact, sexual
orientation identity
varies due to human
diversity including age,
gender, race, ethnicity,
culture, religion, and
socioeconomic status.
Sexual orientation
identity refers to the
awareness of one’s
sexuality and the public
and private ways of self-
identification.
Exploring sexual
orientation identity is
crucial. Sexual
orientation identity plays
a significant role in
relational and
interpersonal decisions,
the formation of
community, social
support, and partnering.
Overall, research
indicates that sexuality is
on a continuum.

The following recommendations are adapted from the American Psychological Association (2009)
Appropriate Therapeutic Responses to Sexual Orientation:
1. Strive for self -determination
You have control over the course of your life. You determine your own unique self-identity. There is no
precondition to the outcome of your identity. Differences are not undesirable. Ask your self, “In what ways
am I the same?” Identify and focus on your strengths and positive traits!
2.Explore your sexuality
Be aware that sexual orientation and sexual identity are not reciprocal. Identify the gender roles, identities,
values, and expression you hold. Reject LGBT and normative stereotypes. How do you want to express your
sexual orientation identity?
3. Manage and reduce stress
“Am I allowing sexual stigma to affect me?” Stigma takes the form of negative attitudes about yourself. Use
active coping to release self stigma and enhance stigma competence. Strive to understand the effects of sexual
stigma, prejudice, and discrimination.
4.Reconnect with religion
Identify any religious or spiritual conflicts that cause distress and give yourself empathy for your dilemmas.
Ask yourself, “How can I use my religion to positively cope?” Reflect on God’s unconditional love and the
strengthening of your faith. Recognize the importance of religious beliefs and concern.
5.Stay social
Surround yourself with an affirming and accepting community. Support and participate in charity, hope,
forgiveness, gratitude, kindness, and compassion.
