Descriptive Essay On The Lost Wallet
The Lost Wallet The sun was shining, and it was an overall great day. I was
walking down with my friends enjoying the weather, and their company. We were
going to the best cafe on the street, the one we ve been going to since we were kids.
My friends and I took the shortcut through the allГ©e. As soon as we walked into
the alley, the sunlight washed away and the darkness flooded in. I could feel the
darkness cold on my back, as we ran through the creepy path. I made sure my wallet
was secure inside my pant pocket. It s always so scary in here. Can t this alley just
let some sunlight in? Mary, one of my friends shivered as she spoke. Her dark
brown hair stood on end, and her hands shook. This alley spooked us since we
were kids. Au contraire, there is sunlight at the entrance and exit of this alley.
Amy, my other friend said. Ok, sure. AHHHHH! I screamed as loud as I could, at
in an instance the pull went away. Lily! What happened? My friends both said in
unison. I turned and looked around for the source of the trouble. There was
nothing that seemed like it could pull on me. Agh. I must have made it all up in
my mind. Man! I must have made it all up in my head. I can t seem to shake this
feeling off of my back. It s this creepy alley. I shook my head, and saw that my
scream had scared the socks off of my friends. Sorry guys, let s just get out of here.
We all held hands and ran ,as fast as our legs would take us, out of that wretched
place. As soon as we
The Destruction Of Fear In Gardner s Grendel, By John
Gardner
Society s biggest flaws stem from the inability to understand the unknown; fear is one
of the greatest contributions to this inability. Society projects their own fears and
flaws onto monsters in order to deter the realization that they are the real monster. In
John Gardner s Grendel ; Grendel is the victim to this concept because society has a
preconceived notion about him and automatically stigmatizes him. Grendel is an
embodiment of mankind s greatest fears and a reflection of them selves. Our
obsession with monsters is due to the lack of understandingfrom something that is
completely different from ourselves. Society only projects their fears onto monsters
because it has been integrated in society to see monsters as malicious... Show more

Being afraid is not a valid reason to attack something. It only counter acts the idea
what we are understanding creatures. Even with multiple encounters with Grendel
the Danes they do not attempt any sort of communication with him. They simply
attack first and don t bother to question why he always seems to appear around
them. For example Gardner say s Drunken men rushed with me with battle axes. I
sank to my knees, crying, Friend! Friend! They hacked at me, yipping like dogs.
(Page 52). It is very said that even when Grendel is trying to establish some sort of
communications with the Danes they still ignore him and attack anyway. Even with
a lack of communication the Danes should still try to make contact with him anyway
possible. It seems barbaric that as a society they did not question their own actions.
This is one of Societies biggest flaws. If they would have tried to establish
communication with Grendel he may have not reacted the way he did. Society must
use their sociological imagination and try to see that Grendel was only attacking
because he was the one being threatened. He showed the most humanity in that
situation, he tried to establish communication by even saying the word Friend! . In
Language and Gender in Grendel Diane Andrews Henningfeld argues that Although
Grendel understands his language to be the same as the men s, they do not
understand his speech.
Controversial Art
Art is the expression of human creative skills and imagination characteristically in a
visual form such as painting, drawing, photographs or sculpture producing works of
arts to be valued primarily for its beauty or emotional influence. Conceptual artists
have become less interested in making beautiful artworks that value the aesthetic,
preferring instead to use the process of art to explore ideas and challenge beliefs,
whether artistic or political. Over time, this has distorted the definition of what art is
considered to be as it constantly being changed and simplified. The continual
redefinition of art has been perpetuated by artists who continually challenge what is
socially and culturally acceptable as in order to test and widen existing boundaries.
As arguments continue to arise over whether art that pushes boundaries is acceptable,
many artists have been heavily criticized for their explicit and frequently
confrontational portrayal of... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
This empowerment given to artists often inspires other artists and members of
society to express their values and beliefs through imagery. This in turn gives them
the ability to draw from the reflection of the society in which we live and gives
them the artistic freedom to capture the reality that merely creating artworks about
their own personal beliefs and opinions. Despite the countless number of
controversial figure inhabiting the art world of the 20th century, society as a whole
should allow artists to challenge the standard and to be edgy, as over time, viewers
will be able to appreciate their artworks. Many artists from past and present continue
to challenge these conventions, with Anders Serrano and Salvador Dali being two
of those who do. Many can argue their aesthetic qualities, but each work fulfills the
criteria of a work of art and more importantly reflects on societal values and
Controversy Over Modern Vs. Alternative Medicine
Controversy Over Modern vs. Alternative Medicine.
All around the world, doctors have been debating whether or not modern medicine is
a better treatment
than alternative medicine. Throughout the years this controversy has changed the
way some people live and helped
them decide how to raise their children. Modern medicine relies on modern
technologies, scientific values as well as
scientifically proved procedures for purposes of preventing, diagnosing, and treating
adverse medical conditions.
Today, many people are now opting toward Alternative which is also called

Many who prefer alternative
medicine are influenced by religious reasons. The majority of people s daily lives
and choices are influenced by reli gion and cultural beliefs. The providers of
alternative and modern medicine take a stand to say they did not differ in
spirituality, but a higher percentage of acupuncturists strongly agreed with the
statement that they tried to carry their
religious beliefs into the rest of their lives (Curlin). The interconnection in religion
and the belief of the medicine
provider sets the understanding that alternative medicine is often based on traditional
knowledge, which is why there
is sometimes not always enough scientific evidence available about their safety and
usefulness. Overtime, people
tend to become attracted to alternative medicine because there s a perceived health
benefit start to embrace the reli gious ideas underneath these practices (Moon). Due
to their beliefs, they become more attached to their religious
beliefs and internally attached to their cultural norms. The modern medicine is more
towards curing the patient with
the shortest time frame possible.
The assumption that there s a sort of spiritual energy at work (Moon), is explained in

no evidence of reduction in working hours, tangible and intangible work intrusions

revealed that there is a need for a practical instrument to measure the present
situation of work life balance. However, as revealed by the researchers Eikhof et. al.

Male And Female Communication
Men Are from Mars and Women Are from Venus , is a true statement.
Male and Female communication styles are totally different. Men and women appear
to be from two different planets. How does communication and culture affect how
you communication? I agree, that cultural communication is taught different based
on gender? Yes, Females are taught at a very young age to be great listeners and pay
close attention to detail. Males on the other hand or taught to leave all the detail stuff
to the women. Both way men and women separately are two totally different genders.
Male and Female genders have their own background and cultural habits. The
difference in genders has created different communion styles. This makes

Women do use metamessages when communication with men. Our cultures do affect
are future communication in our long term relationships. Women, I must concur
assume that if they are in a long term relationships the man should know all about
them. The man should know what they like and do not like. Women in long term
relationships know all about the man. They know their favorite food, favorite color
and their like and dislikes. Men, from my experiences do not like a lot of
communication talking in other words. Women on the other hand enjoys
communication and I agree that Deborah Tannen statement, Being understood
without saying what you mean gives a payoff in involvement, and that is why
women value it so highly . This is exactly what women really want in relationships
with men. Women value men who can know exactly what they are thinking without
saying a word. Metamessages as described in this reading excerpt as an indirect way
of communicating. Metamessages are what women use as a form of communication
to resolve conflict or to solve every day dilemmas in relationships with men. One
William Shakespeare s Julius Caesar Essay
The topic of leadership in Shakespeare s Julius Caesar has been discussed and
argued ever since the play was written. The most prevalent discussion of leadership
in the play revolves around Shakespeare s tragic hero, Marcus Brutus, and the cause
of his downfall. According to Shakespeare critic James Bundy, Brutus... is a man
whose affections sway more than his reason, in whom there is this tragic
confederacy of passion and imagination against reason (qtd. in Palmer 402). Ernest
Shanzer, however, says that Brutus is by no means devoid of political shrewdness
and practical wisdom , but he is a bad judge of character (Shanzer 1). Although both
critics descriptions of Brutus have merit, Brutus shortcoming, as well as the success
of the opposing leader, Mark Antony, is more accurately explained using the
observations of Niccolo Machiavelli in The Prince. In this book Machiavelli outlines
the characteristics of a successful leader. When using The Prince as a lens to read
Julius Caesar, the correlation between a leader s Machiavellianismand their success
becomes very apparent. Marcus Brutus is undoubtedly an honorable and respectable
man, but his morality prevents him from adhering to Machiavelli s principles. Due to
his lack of princely virtues, Brutus is doomed to fail, while Antony, a much more
Machiavellian prince, successfully seizes power.
Niccolo Machiavelli s The Prince is one of the most respected documents in
existence regarding power, and for good

Odysseus develops throughout his journey in many ways both spiritually and
physically. These developments help him adapt to his surroundings and transform
him into a better person. Throughout the epic poem, Odysseus entire person is
reconstructed from that of a soldier in the Trojan War to a versatile hero, whose
development of mental, spiritual, emotional, and intellectual aptitude is higher than
his contemporaries . Odysseusintellectual development in The Odysseyis a returning
subject regularly as his journey unfolds. From the beginning of his journey, Odysseus
shows higher intellectual capacity than everyone around him. He displays an adroit

The reader can see that Odysseus mental capacity is recognized by the people
around him. His spirit is uncontainable no matter the situation. It is only at his
weakest point in his journey, when he is trapped on Calypsos island, that the hero
s mental will begins to waver. By the days found him sitting on the rocks or sands,
torturing himself with tears, groans and heartache, and looking out with streaming
eyes across the watery wilderness (Homer, 67). His will is threatened by his
disconsolate attitude towards being a prisoner for more than 10 years on Calypso
island. However, this moment of weakness only brings to light the fact that the
hero is human, and though his mental support is fallible, it still develops beyond
the point of normal human capability. Throughout Odysseus adventurous
endeavors, he is kept mentally and physically toned by his belief in the Greek
gods and their help. This spiritual growth leads him to call out to Zeus for the
blessing that will warrant his safe return home when he is leaving the Phaeacians to
embark on his last voyage home. I do indeed pray to Zeus the Thunderer, husband
or Hera, to let me reach my home and see the day of my return (Homer, 106). It
becomes apparent that Odysseus; reliance on the help and blessing from the gods is
what reassures him in his time of suffering. Eventually, his spiritual development
reaches a point where he
For the Period Before 1750, Analyze the Ways in Which...
Topic: For the period before 1750, analyze the ways in which Britain s policy of
Salutary Neglect influenced the development of American society as illustrated in the
following: Legislative assemblies, commerce, religion. Before 1750, the
undocumented British policy of salutary neglect greatly impacted the methods
through which American colonists regulated their daily lives. Through mercantilist
thought processes, Britain created the colonies merely for gain of the mother terrain
itself. Therefore, it did not give them any specific attention and allowed them to
simply rule itself by personal means and this idea makes up salutary neglect. The
colonies used their own assemblies, such as the House of Burgesses, to govern

Primarily colonial leadership could make this decision, because the gist of the
situation comprised of keeping the slaves from taking advantage of the fact that
England allowed freedom under certain circumstances. Economically, the Crown
did not provide as much assistance as needed to the colonists of the New World.
Trade involved mainly countries other than England, because this way profits
were maximized. England, once again, created its colonies for mercantilist
reasons: profits and only profits. In reaction to these trade schemes, the Navigation
Acts were enforced. Smuggling then grew extremely popular mainly because of
price differences and simple convenience. Agriculturally, the main crops were
indigo, sugarcane, tobacco, cotton, and rice. Due to high demand, several workers
were needed. Through the Triangular trade, raw materials went to England and the
Northern Colonies, slaves came to the plantation dominated areas of the colonies,
and manufactured goods went to the West Indies. Molasses was turned into rum in
New England and traded for more slaves as well. Religious freedom was one of the
main causes for English peoples to move to the New World. They escaped from the
de catholicization of the Church of England in order to believe in what they wanted
to belive in. The government once again did not pay any heed to set an official
religious set of rules in the colonies, therefore allowing the people to

The London Eye Mystery is a fine book however I don t see it working in the 8th
grade curriculum. I believe The London Eye Mystery should be cut from the 8th
grade curriculum because it is too easy for 8th graders to read. There are many
reasons to back up my claim here is two. The clues in the book The London Eye
Mystery are to visible, in other words the mystery is too easy for a reader to solve.
Also the book is not captivating it has little suspense. First the clues in The
London Eye Mystery are to visible to the reader especially an 8th grade reader. For

These countries are infringing upon the UN s universally recognized civil liberty
of freedom of press. Ireland is certainly not one of those countries. In fact, Ireland
ranks #11 globally in the Reporters Without Borders report on freedom of press. At
#11, Ireland actually has a higher freedom of press ranking than any current member
of the UNSC, excluding New Zealand. Ireland also has no recorded abuses toward
journalists, which cannot be said for any current UNSC member except for the
United Kingdom. This comparison in ranking between Ireland and the permanent
members of the UNSC can be seen below.

Another example of Ireland s peacekeeping policies is the countries low
expenditures towards its military. Ireland has only budgeted about $440 million
U.S dollars to fund the maintenance and expansion of its standing army for the year
2015. This is a miniscule amount compared to the tens of billions of dollars that
each permanent member of the UNSC has budgeted for their militaries. figure A
My country of Ireland has historically taken positions of neutrality when it comes to
war, and Ireland s minor military spending only serves as more evidence of our
preference of peaceful resolve over force and military action.

the cost of CVD and stroke is staggering with more than $320 billion (U.S. dollars)

Shonda Rhime How To Get Away With Murder
Many people say that Shonda Rhime s new television show, How to Get Away with
Murder, is simply another copycat Law Order: Criminal Intent television show.
However, this is obviously contradicted not only in the show s portrayal of its time,
but also when one examines their independent casts, plot, and underlying themes.
Law Order: Criminal Intent is a perfect example of the recipe to television success
which numerous networks attempted to construct during the early 2000 s. First, the
elitist casting call, this included a predominately all Caucasian male cast with, at the
most, one male African American actor. Then came the same constructed plotline in
every episode, split into two viewpoints. The first viewpoint featuring the detectives

The condition can cause women to have hallucinations and feel paranoid. A month
after her baby was born, Alice was dead. She died from internal bleeding and a

Bigger is naturally afraid that Jan might speak a different story than what he told

The Evolution of TCPIP and The Internet The Evolution of TCP/IP (and the Internet)
While the TCP/IP protocols and the Internet are different, their evolution are most
definitely parallel. This section will discuss some of the history.
Prior to the 1960s, what little computer communication existed comprised simple text
and binary data, carried by the most common telecommunications network technology
of the day; namely, circuit switching, the technology of the telephone networks for
nearly a hundred years. Because most data traffic transmissions occur during a very
short period of time, circuit switching results in highly inefficient use of network
resources. In 1962, Paul Baran, of the Rand Corporation, described a robust, ... Show

The original ARPANET gave life to a number of protocols that were new to packet
switching. One of the most lasting results of the ARPANET was the development of
a user network protocol that has become the standard interface between users and
packet switched networks; namely, ITU T (formerly CCITT) Recommendation X.25.
This standard interface encouraged BBN to start Telenet, a commercial packet
switched data service, in 1974; after much renaming, Telenet is now a part of Sprint s
X.25 service.
The initial host to host communications protocol introduced in the ARPANET was
called the Network Control Protocol (NCP). Over time, however, NCP proved to be
incapable of keeping up with the growing network traffic load. In 1974, a new, more
robust suite of communications protocols was proposed and implemented throughout
the ARPANET, based upon the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and Internet
Protocol (IP). TCP and IP were originally envisioned functionally as a single
protocol, thus the protocol suite, which actually refers to a large collection of
protocols and applications, is usually referred to simply as TCP/IP. The original
versions of both TCP and IP that are in common use today were written in
September 1981, although both have had several modifications applied to them (in
addition, the IP version 6, or IPv6, specification was released in December 1995). In
1983, the DoD mandated that all of their computer systems would use the TCP/IP
protocol suite for
Managing And Securing Unstructured Data
With a massive growth in Internet, there has been an enormous increase in the
amount of information generated and shared in social networking sites and across
various industries. This has led to storing and access issues with regards to
unstructured data.
Firstly understanding what unstructured data is of primary importance before trying
to handle it. In simple terms unstructured data can be understood as data that can t be
stored in the form of rows and columns. It can be anything including email files, text
documents, presentations, image and video files.
Studies carried out by IDC and EMC forecasts that data will grow to 40 zettabyes (1
ZB = 1 billion TB). As of now more than 80% of all stored data in organizations is
unstructured and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
Also backup and restore will take a lesser time
Major disadvantage is that storing unstructured data will significantly increase the
size of databases which will lead to more time for backup and restore of these
databases and can cause performance issues with I/O subsystems
The big disadvantage of this approach is that we have to create and maintain manual
links between database and external file system files which can potentially go out of
sync. Also since data is stored outside the system the backups are not consistent and
unstructured data is not a part of the transaction.
Hybrid Approach: To overcome the disadvantages of the methods discussed above,
another method was the Hybrid Approach, which proposes Database engine to
support a new data type filestream . Filestram help consolidates the profit of getting
to BLOBs specifically from the NTFS document framework with the referential
integrity and simple entry offered by the conventional social database engine. In SQL
Server, BLOBs can be standard varbinary (max) information that stores the
information in tables, or filestream varbinary (max) protests that store the information
in the document framework. The major advantage of this approach is BLOB s are
under database transactional consistency. By carrying out research with different
datasets, it was clearly observed that hybrid and filestream data type approach is faster
Role Of Cosine In The Simpsons
In this project I was able to utilize my knowledge about functions in order to create
an image that represent the cosine and sine graphs as well as other trigonometric
graphs. Moreover, this project was really amusing because I had the opportunity to
draw an image that represent the given graphs. The reason I choose to do this image
was first based on the cartoonish character Bart of the famous animated comedy The
Simpsons. After analyzing the character, I change many of its features such as the
mouth, nose, eyebrows, and other elements. Furthermore, I changed the eyebrows
and nose and convert them into cosine curves. Similarly, I changed the mouth, hair
and the sleeves of the shirt of my character into sine curves. In order to find the

DORN (Does Not Respond to Nucleotides 1), DORN1, L Type Lectin Receptor
Kinase I.9, LECRK I.9 are synonymous. According to TAIR database, LECRK I.9 is
involved in protein protein interactions with RGD containing proteins as potential
ligands, role in cell wall plasma membrane adhesion and involved in Phytophthora
resistance. The mutant dorn1 is defective in LECRK I.9. DORN1, binds ATP with
high affinity and is required for: ATP induced calcium response, mitogen activated
protein kinase activation, geneexpression. Ectopic expression of DORN1 increased
the plant response to physical wounding. Choi et.al. (2014) demonstrated that
DORN1 is essential for perception of extracellular ATP and likely plays a variety of
roles in plant stress resistance... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Effective Communication And Interpersonal
Communication
Within this piece of writing I am going to go explain how effective communication
and interpersonal interaction is crucial within health and social care, I will also
discuss theories of communication and how they are effective within the health and
social sector.
Communication
What is communication? Communication Is when two or more people exchange or
express information, thoughts, feelings etc. by using sounds, signs, or behaviors.
Why do people communicate?
People communicate to find out how people are feeling, so if there are any
problems they can help them out and take them to the doctors if needed, in some
cases people communication just to have a catch up with a friend. A good example
of this within health and social would be if a person that spoke a different language
needed to go to the toilet you would have to communicate by using the right
translation book to understand what they are saying. There are many different types
to communicate which are; one to one, formal, and informal, between colleagues,
with other professionals, between professionals and service users, multi agency, multi
professional working I am now going to go into some detail about these different
types to communicate to each other within a social workers industry, I will be giving
examples throughout.
Interpersonal
What is Interpersonal communication?
Interpersonal communication is skills and techniques that people use in order to
communicate and maintain positive relationships, a good
Psychodynamic Approach To Leadership Analysis
Leadership is the tactics shown by an individual to lead an organization or a group
of individuals. Leaders are people who do the right thing; managers are people who
do things right (Professor Warren G. Bennis). Leaders do right things and shows
right path. They always motivate or guide others to follow this right path. They
create inspiring vision to deliver something new.. They set direction, to win and
steadily improve the present situation as a team by this new inspiring vision Various
factors which contribute equally for the development of a good leader are personality
, good communication, open mind to accept once weakness and vulnerability ,
motivation and inspiration from others, good team work balance of concern for
oneself vs. others. This reflective assignment deals with psychodynamic approach to
leadershipand how to use psychologyto improve efficiency. Psychodynamic approach
raises the awareness of leaders and followers to their on personality types and the
implications of this in their work culture The trait which we used to decide who will

The psychodynamic approach emphasizes the idea that people gain their initial
experiences with leadership from the day they are born.. The main concept within
the approach is personality. This suggests that childhood experiences is one of the
main factor that affect the different characteristics of people. Under or over gratified
at any stage the child may become fixated and this could affect adult behaviour.
.Personality of an individual can be characterised by numerous methods one of the
most popular one which psychologists do is by giving a set of questionnaires which

Changing Trends That Will Affect The Way Businesses...
Within the next decade leadership and organizational strategy will see many changing
trends that will affect the way businesses conduct business. Education Management
Corporation (EDMC) is the parent company of the Art Institute of California
Sacramento, a for profit university (Education Management Corporation, 2015). The
Sacramento campus is just one out of the thirty seven campuses spread out
throughout the United States and Canada (Art Institute, 2015). This university s
campus opened in 2007 and currently has programs of study in Culinary, Media Arts,

26). The Art Institute of California Sacramento s organizational structure is based on
the idea that one main goal, helping students to succeed, can be carried out
throughout different departments to make sure that the strategy, vision and mission
is carried out. The Art Institute of California Sacramento s workforce is very
diverse. Many different ethnicities, cultures, and demographics represent the campus
at every level. The ratio of men to women staff and faculty is also pretty even. The
student population is also very diverse. The diversity is the same as the workforce
but the student population also has a socioeconomic diversity since some student
come from lower income families and some from higher income. The student body is
also compromised of more men then women. This could be due to the types of
programs that the Art Institute of California Sacramento offers. One of the biggest
advantages that The Art Institute of California Sacramento has is that is a very
technology driven campus. Many of the programs offered rely heavily on technology.
Due to this, the technology at the campus is constantly getting upgrade to be able to
provide students with the best hardware and software to learn with and allow them to
succeed. Since the Sacramento campus is just one of thirty seven

Cognitive Response The environment offers non verbal communication for
individuals (Broadbent, Bunt and Jencks, 1980; Rapoport, 1982 and Bitner, 1992).
This view is supported by Ittelson (1973) in his characterization of environments:
...environment always provide more information than can possibly
aroused....Environment always represent, simultaneously, instances of redundant
information, of inadequate and ambiguous information, and of conflicting and
contradictory information (p.75). If a person is motivated to interact with the
environment, this interaction would stimulate a cognitive response. It is possible
for this response to be integrated into a personally meaningful perception which
influences people s beliefs about a place, people and product (Rogers, 1979;
Golledge, 1987; Kaplan and Kaplan, 1982 and Rapoport, 1982). In the retailing
literature, there is some support for the view that store environment can induce
cognitive responses which in turn may affect shopping behavior (Marzuky and
Jacoby, 1986; Ward, 1992; Sirgy et al., 2000). Bitner (1992) proposes a conceptual
framework explaining how the store atmosphere influences the approach avoidance
behavior through intervening variables. These intervening variables are emotional
response, cognitive response and
The Digestive System And The Circulatory System
The Digestive System 1.1
The digestive system is comprised of a group of organs known as the alimentary
canal, which is one continues tube that runs from the oral cavity to the anus. The
second set of organs that make up the digestive system are the Accessory organs.
The digestive system has six main functions: ingestion, secretion, mixing and
movement, digestion, absorption, and excretion of food (Tortora Derrickson, 2009).

Salivary GlandsThe salivary glands surround the mouth. There are 3 sets of salivary
glands. The saliva moistens the food to lubricate it as it passes through the mouth; it
also begins the process of chemical digestion.
LiverThe liver is accessory organ of the digestive system which is triangle in shape.
The liver is located to the right of the stomach and above the small intestine. The main
functions of the liver in digestion are production and secretion of bile into the small
intestine.
GallbladderThe gallbladder is a pear shaped organ located just behind the liver. The
gallbladder stores the bile and recycles any excess bile from the small intestine.
PancreasThe pancreas is a fairly large gland which is about 15cm in length. The head
is connected to the duodenum. The pancreas secretes many different digestive
enzymes into the small intestine via the duodenum to aid in the completion of
chemical digestion.

anything from physical and intimate abuse to verbal abuse. Teen dating violence
happens because, the abuser thinks it is okay, there s problems going on in the
relationship, or they have their own personal problems. Some warning signs that a
person might be abusive are violent outbursts, control issues, distancing their partner
from others, puts partner down, and they aren t trusting. Ten percent of high school
students report dating violence. The most common age for teen dating violence to
occur is between the ages of sixteen and twenty four years old. However, there are
many times dating violence goes unreported, due to the belief that nothing can be

Describe the owner/manager s experience with dealing with each supplier. What
service level do the vendors provide and how do they differ?
Store #1: Since Nations Fresh Food is a grocery store, they rely on multiple
suppliers to operate the store as it should be run. Thus, they have different
experiences dealing with each vendor. For example, Korean pears require a personal
relationship with pear suppliers in Korea.
According to the produce manager, National Fresh food purchases their pears from
a vendor in China over the phone or online. The pear vendor can only ship products
in the fall and spring because that is when the pears are in season. Also, the produce
manager said that the goods arrive on time and in good condition and that they
receive a refund if the products are damaged.
Moreover, the vendor deliveries that product to the store in a pre designed box with
the product name and logo on it. The pears are sold in boxes of 12 and 24. This type
of packaging is different from other produce suppliers because the pears come pre
packaged and ready to sell as is unlike other providers. For example, bananas are
packaged in boxes that have to be opened by staff and placed on the
Manliness In Sports In Not Just A Game By Dave Zirin
Manliness in sports have always been present, as Dave Zirin describes, but it is even
more present when it comes to pain and recovery. With this combination of sports and
manliness, it leads to the militarization of football, and the blind devotion that the
sport gives to the military.
In one of the segments in the video Not Just a Game, Dave Zirin introduces the
concept of the merger of manliness and sports. The central theme of this argument
is that in order to be a real man, one would have to sacrifice his body, and be even
more vulnerable to injury (Zurin). This is all to serve the ultimate goal, to win the
game (Zurin). However, as stated in the film, this leads to the blurring of ethical
lines, as athletes start to cheat, like take ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
With this argument, Zurin describes how Tillman went from sacrifice his career to
serve his country, to end up being against the war and making sure that everyone
knew his position (Zurin). When Tillman was killed overseas in conflict, the Army
made sure to cover up the true events of friendly fire with the story that Tillman died
under enemy fire while charging up a hill (Zurin). Zurin goes on to describe that,
according to this militarization mindset, someone fighting heroically while not
challenging orthodoxy is more courageous that someone challenging the motivations
and beliefs of a society and of an action

The first of two plays that has been considered for selection in upcoming

Canada is Blackrock by the late Nick Enright. The plays must represent the values,

parties and underage drinking. The second play is the popular Blurred by the
playwright Stephen Davis; which offers a comedic and clever representation of

Now you get in the van. Your turn to look after me. (P56 7) This illustrates not
only what type of character Ricko is but also the way in which he interacts with
other characters in Blackrock. He uses foul language such as: You are, man, you
fucken are (p57) The language used in Blackrock depicts the Surfie sub culture
that resides within Australian Youth Culture. A prime example of how Enright has
utilized language to appeal to the targeted group, teens, was one of Toby s initial
lines. Toby is a close friend of Jared and also sister of Jared s girlfriend Rachel: I ll
put on a keg show down the surf club (P3) Enright also exploits Australian
colloquialisms to reiterate the theme of teenage rebellion, something generic of the
western world. Unfortunately inherit of teenage rebellion is anti social behaviour so
eloquently put by Dave: Bet ya ten bucks you can t take out that street light (P27)
Also it is apparent that the teenage characters in this play, are excessively
disrespectful of their parents: Diane (mother) Where are you going? Jared (son) Shut
up! Shut the f@#$ up! (P29) Enright also to connect with audiences uses
colloquialism and refers to things that aren t widely apparent internationally, only
adding to the genuine underpinning of the play: It s not a

Punks have always been known for pushing the envelope, but the Sex Pistols
pushed it farther than anyone to date in the genre of punk music. The Sex Pistols
boisterous lyrics and edgy appearance led for them to be heavily censored by the
radio and print media and even banned in many places, Britain and abroad.
They were like nothing seen or heard before. Their torn clothes and spiked hair sent a
visual message that they did not care what others thought. The band was actually put
together by Malcolm McLaren, who used the band as an advertisement for his fetish
clothing store. Their chains, tight leather, and torn clothes have since been associated

After being dropped by E.M.I. for their disgraceful.... agressive...behavior, the band

executives who were worried about the band s message. The only label that would

Apocalypto Essay
Apocalypto was perhaps one of the films in which I was most curious to see because

realism captured in the film.

Packet Inspection Using a Hierarchical Pattern Matching Algorithm

Proddatur, India tmukthar@gmail.com Abstract: Detection engines capable of
inspecting packet payloads for application layer network information are urgently
required. The most important technology for fast payload inspection is an efficient
multipattern matching algorithm, which performs exact string matching between
packets and a large set of predefined patterns. This paper proposes a novel Enhanced
Hierarchical Multipattern Matching Algorithm (EHMA) for packet inspection.
Based on the occurrence frequency of grams, a small set of the most frequent grams
is discovered and used in the EHMA. EHMA is a two tier and cluster wise matching
algorithm, which significantly reduces the amount of external memory accesses and
the capacity of memory. Using a skippable scan strategy, EHMA speeds up the
scanning process. Furthermore, independent of parallel and special functions, EHMA
is very simple and therefore practical for both software and hardware
implementations. Simulation results reveal that EHMA significantly improves the
matching performance. The speed of EHMA is about 0.89 1,161 times faster than
that of current matching algorithms. Even under real life intense attack, EHMA still
performs well.

Essay about Hindenburg
Hindenburg
Within seconds, 35 people were dead and many fled for their lives. This was the case
with the Hindenburg catastrophe. The three most significant topics that are of
significance in this tragedy will be about the arrival , the escaping and confusion as
the ship ignited, and the statistical fact upon Hindenburgs inflation with hydrogen.
The first important focus on the Hindenburg tragedy is the arrival in
Lakehurst, New Jersey. Commander Rosendahl, who was head commander of the
ship s arrival, was an anxious man the day of his ship s arrival. He frequently paced
his spartan office that day hoping to see his airship safely moored to the mast and
passengers disembarked unharmed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...
From the arrival, the next focal point is the tragic explosions and the escape of the
passengers aboard the Hindenburg airship. The first explosion occurred
approximately four minutes after the first bow rope had dropped to the field.
Rosendahl remembered this moment and exclaimed, It seemed as if the whole
world was holding its breath. One heard no command, no call, no cry. (Archbold,
181) A man by the name of Helmut Lau, was walking on a catwalk keeping an eye
on the mooring cable when he heard a muffled detonation. He thought the
combustion originated near the center of the cell by a walkway, but everything
happened so fast he couldn t be sure. Another cell men by the name of Hans Freund
was closest to the faint explosion as it occurred, yet his back was turned and had no
clue where the fire actually started. As the Hindenburg, which was inflated with
hydrogen, was being engulfed with flames the head captain ,Max Pruss, was at the
head of the ship with other captains and none of the officers yet understood what was
happening. Seconds later however,
Captain Sammt, who was leaning out a port window along with Pruss remarked,
The ship s on fire! (Archbold,183) The ground crew retreated as the fire roared
toward the bow as
Personal Philosophy Of Leadership And Generational Lines
PERSONAL APPROACH TO LEADERSHIP 2
Personal Approach to Leadership across Cultural and Generational Lines The world
seems to be getting smaller, and a harmonized place of work seems to be something
of the yesteryears. Instead, current leaders are required to deal with a diversity of
employees across generational in addition to cultural lines, respectively with their
personal values, work ethic, as well as desires. The situation can be a difficult
profession to keep every person in high spirits and productive. Therefore, styles and
approaches that function satisfactory with some individuals may be entirely
unsuccessful with others. Nevertheless, a leader should not alter their entire leadership
approach every time they have an interaction with someone from a diverse generation
or cultural environment. It would be my suggestion to have one sound approach
that would work for most of everyone. In spite of age or cultural circumstances,
each member of a team for sure has one something in common: they work for a
salary and they have to be productive in order to continue to receive a salary.
Therefore, individuals should learn how to balance this and other mutual grounds
into a place of work environment that not just accepts diversity, nevertheless
embraces it. Stop allowing alleged divisions hurt team s efficiency and learn the
competences needed to successfully guide a diverse team.

The two top selling brands, Budweiser and Bud Light, both belonged to Anheuser
Busch. Ranking second was Miller with the third best selling product, Miller Light.
Ranked third was Coors Brewing Company with the fourth most popular beer, Coors
Light.
New Belgium competes in what is known as the Craft Brew or Microbrew market.
This market represents approximately 3% of the Domestic Beer market. (see Graph
A). Anheuser Busch (Budweiser) accounts for nearly half of this market.
This Craft Beer segment has tripled from the 1% share of about 20 years ago.
New Belgium is the third largest craft brewer in the United States behind Boston
Beer (Sam Adams) and Sierra Nevada. (See Graph B).
New Belgium s revenues for last year totaled 111 million dollars. This represents a
16% growth from the previous year.
New Belgium is sold primarily in Western States, has just recently begun selling in
California, and has plans to expand into other states. They recently have begun
constructing a 76,000 sq. ft. addition to the present 100,000 sq. ft. plant. This will
help meet the new demand New Belgium expects from expanding their market.
A unique characteristic of New Belgium is their commitment to being an
environmentally friendly and efficient operation. They are leaders in this area. New
Belgium has the world s first wind powered brewery. They also have a complex
wastewater reclamation system that allows
Katherine Water Experiment
Part one
Katherine wants to investigate if the time of day a plant is watered affects the growth
of the plant. She hypothesizes that a plant watered in the morning will grow faster
than a plant watered at other times of the day.
The independent variable in this experiment is the time of day at which the plant is
watered. I know this because that is the one thing being changed in the experiment.
The dependent variable is the growth of the plant. I know this because growth of the
plant comes directly after affects
Some controlled variables in this experiment would be: the amount of sunlight, the
amount of water, the temperature, the humidity, and type of soil. Each Plant would
need to be in the same area by being placed in the same window sill, same area
outside, etc. Katherine would also have to measure the amount of water she was
giving each plant in order to assure that one plant didn t have an unfair advantage.
She would also probably have to put a thermometer on/in each pot of soil to insure
that they all stayed around the same temperature. As for humidity Katherine ... Show

Borrowing Student Loans
Research has revealed that Student loans make up 54 percent of aid for college
tuition, making them the largest form of loans awarded to students. With the increase
in student loans, the rate of defaults are on the rise, this could be the attributed to the
high unemployment rate or other financial factors. Student loans continue to be an
albatross around the neck of many students, every year there is a marked increase in
student borrowers. The rise in the increase of students loans coupled with the overall
expenses for college has grown faster than inflation. Why is this? Experts contend that
more and more students are increasingly taking out a series of student loans, thus
compounding the debtratio. Taking on new student loans only increases your debt,
thereby, sinking you further and further into financial crisis. It is straightforward, the
more debt you incur, the deeper the debt spiral.
Student loans will always be with us, unfortunately, borrowing to achieve a higher
education is the only way the majority of Americans will reach their goal of
earning a college degree. Because we know that borrowing to attend college is not
going away, steps to offset the bite of borrowing to attend college should be taken as
far in advance as possible to ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ...

Silk Road Ethnography
The media s skewed outlook and reports on the deep web has affected the way the
majority of people view this resource that is inherently not a bad tool. The media
also misrepresents the deep web by confusing it with the darknet and giving false
information about the two. It is easy to get caught in the wave of horror stories that
appear in magazines and online content about the deep weband the darknet, but more
often than not the deep web is doing more good than is portrayed by the media. The
advances in cryptography that is being used within the deep web and the darknet are
creating a safer environment for reporters and political activists; even the simple
internet user needs cryptography to protect their information stored in the deep web....

The Silk Road was one of the most popular darknet sites that dealt mostly with
drugs. In an interview with Alex Winter, the director of Deep Web a documentary
about the deep web and the Silk Road. he said that the community needed a
substance to draw people in, but they seemed to stick around for the ideals the
website set up (4). During the documentary there was an interview with Dread
Pirate Roberts, the supposed leader of Silk Road, where he explained, What we re
doing isn t about scoring drugs or sticking it to the man, it s about standing up for
our right as human beings and refusing to submit when we ve done no wrong. Silk
Road is a vehicle for that message. All else is secondary, (5). In the same
documentary many anonymous interviews were done with people associated with
Silk Road. One interviewee states that the site had threads with, great political and
philosophical discussions, (5). He also points out that although illegal things were
happening, the site itself was a community for like minded people to come and
discuss things that maybe they would not be allowed to, or they would not want to,
if others knew their true identity. The Dread Pirate Roberts wrote on one of the
posts, Silk Road was founded on libertarian principles. This user even created a book
club where they would have in depth discussions on Austrian economics and free

The Story Of The Puerto Rican People Is Quite Unique In
The story of the Puerto Rican people is quite unique in the history of U.S.
immigration, just as Puerto Rico dwell a distinctive and sometimes confusing
position in the nation s civic fabric. Puerto Rico has been ownership of the U.S. for
more than a century, however it has never been a state. Puerto Ricans have been U.S.
citizens since 1917, but even with that they still have no vote in Congress. Being
citizens of the U.S. they can move throughout the fifty states without any problems
just as any other American can do legally. This however, is considered inside
migration, not immigration.
Though, moving to the mainland, Puerto Ricans leave a homeland with its own
distinct identity, culture, and the transition can involve many of the same ... Show

Having thought of all the offers that were thrown on the table to them as they made
their way into the United States of America, like being told that if Puerto Rican men
joined the army they would have better possibilities in having a more prosperous life
on the mainland. Even though the U.S. tried to promote Puerto Rico as a glamorous
tourist destination, in the early 20th century the island of Puerto Rico suffered a
severe economic depression. Because of this depression, poverty was widespread,
and few of the island s residents could afford the long boat journey to the mainland,
therefore because of the continuing depression in Puerto Rico made many Puerto
Ricans eager for a fresh start, and this then led to the fast recruiting of U.S. factory
owners and employment agencies on the island. In addition, the postwar years saw
the return home of thousands of Puerto Rican war veterans, whose service in the U.S.
military had shown them the world. But perhaps the most significant cause was the
sudden availability of affordable air travel. After centuries of immigration by boat, the
Puerto Rican migration became the first great airborne migration in U.S. history.
Topic: Puerto Rican Population Declines on the island
Migrating onto the mainland, the first generation of Puerto Rican migrants
established communities in cities throughout the country, including Chicago,
Philadelphia, and Newark, as well as mid Atlantic farm villages and the mill

We were going to the best cafe on the street, the one we ve been going to since we were kids. My friends and I took the shortcut through the allГ©e. As soon as we walked into the alley, the sunlight washed away and the darkness flooded in. I could feel the darkness cold on my back, as we ran through the creepy path. I made sure my wallet was secure inside my pant pocket. It s always so scary in here. Can t this alley just let some sunlight in? Mary, one of my friends shivered as she spoke. Her dark brown hair stood on end, and her hands shook. This alley spooked us since we were kids. Au contraire, there is sunlight at the entrance and exit of this alley. Amy, my other friend said. Ok, sure. AHHHHH! I screamed as loud as I could, at in an instance the pull went away. Lily! What happened? My friends both said in unison. I turned and looked around for the source of the trouble. There was nothing that seemed like it could pull on me. Agh. I must have made it all up in my mind. Man! I must have made it all up in my head. I can t seem to shake this feeling off of my back. It s this creepy alley. I shook my head, and saw that my scream had scared the socks off of my friends. Sorry guys, let s just get out of here. We all held hands and ran ,as fast as our legs would take us, out of that wretched place. As soon as we
  • 3. The Destruction Of Fear In Gardner s Grendel, By John Gardner Society s biggest flaws stem from the inability to understand the unknown; fear is one of the greatest contributions to this inability. Society projects their own fears and flaws onto monsters in order to deter the realization that they are the real monster. In John Gardner s Grendel ; Grendel is the victim to this concept because society has a preconceived notion about him and automatically stigmatizes him. Grendel is an embodiment of mankind s greatest fears and a reflection of them selves. Our obsession with monsters is due to the lack of understandingfrom something that is completely different from ourselves. Society only projects their fears onto monsters because it has been integrated in society to see monsters as malicious... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Being afraid is not a valid reason to attack something. It only counter acts the idea what we are understanding creatures. Even with multiple encounters with Grendel the Danes they do not attempt any sort of communication with him. They simply attack first and don t bother to question why he always seems to appear around them. For example Gardner say s Drunken men rushed with me with battle axes. I sank to my knees, crying, Friend! Friend! They hacked at me, yipping like dogs. (Page 52). It is very said that even when Grendel is trying to establish some sort of communications with the Danes they still ignore him and attack anyway. Even with a lack of communication the Danes should still try to make contact with him anyway possible. It seems barbaric that as a society they did not question their own actions. This is one of Societies biggest flaws. If they would have tried to establish communication with Grendel he may have not reacted the way he did. Society must use their sociological imagination and try to see that Grendel was only attacking because he was the one being threatened. He showed the most humanity in that situation, he tried to establish communication by even saying the word Friend! . In Language and Gender in Grendel Diane Andrews Henningfeld argues that Although Grendel understands his language to be the same as the men s, they do not understand his speech.

Controversial Art Art is the expression of human creative skills and imagination characteristically in a visual form such as painting, drawing, photographs or sculpture producing works of arts to be valued primarily for its beauty or emotional influence. Conceptual artists have become less interested in making beautiful artworks that value the aesthetic, preferring instead to use the process of art to explore ideas and challenge beliefs, whether artistic or political. Over time, this has distorted the definition of what art is considered to be as it constantly being changed and simplified. The continual redefinition of art has been perpetuated by artists who continually challenge what is socially and culturally acceptable as in order to test and widen existing boundaries. • 11. William Shakespeare s Julius Caesar Essay The topic of leadership in Shakespeare s Julius Caesar has been discussed and argued ever since the play was written. The most prevalent discussion of leadership in the play revolves around Shakespeare s tragic hero, Marcus Brutus, and the cause of his downfall. According to Shakespeare critic James Bundy, Brutus... is a man whose affections sway more than his reason, in whom there is this tragic confederacy of passion and imagination against reason (qtd. in Palmer 402). Ernest Shanzer, however, says that Brutus is by no means devoid of political shrewdness and practical wisdom , but he is a bad judge of character (Shanzer 1). Although both critics descriptions of Brutus have merit, Brutus shortcoming, as well as the success of the opposing leader, Mark Antony, is more accurately explained using the observations of Niccolo Machiavelli in The Prince. In this book Machiavelli outlines the characteristics of a successful leader. When using The Prince as a lens to read Julius Caesar, the correlation between a leader s Machiavellianismand their success becomes very apparent. Marcus Brutus is undoubtedly an honorable and respectable man, but his morality prevents him from adhering to Machiavelli s principles. Due to his lack of princely virtues, Brutus is doomed to fail, while Antony, a much more Machiavellian prince, successfully seizes power. Niccolo Machiavelli s The Prince is one of the most respected documents in existence regarding power, and for good

It is only at his weakest point in his journey, when he is trapped on Calypsos island, that the hero s mental will begins to waver. By the days found him sitting on the rocks or sands, torturing himself with tears, groans and heartache, and looking out with streaming eyes across the watery wilderness (Homer, 67). His will is threatened by his disconsolate attitude towards being a prisoner for more than 10 years on Calypso island. However, this moment of weakness only brings to light the fact that the hero is human, and though his mental support is fallible, it still develops beyond the point of normal human capability. Topic: For the period before 1750, analyze the ways in which Britain s policy of Salutary Neglect influenced the development of American society as illustrated in the following: Legislative assemblies, commerce, religion. Before 1750, the undocumented British policy of salutary neglect greatly impacted the methods through which American colonists regulated their daily lives. Through mercantilist thought processes, Britain created the colonies merely for gain of the mother terrain itself. Therefore, it did not give them any specific attention and allowed them to simply rule itself by personal means and this idea makes up salutary neglect. Primarily colonial leadership could make this decision, because the gist of the situation comprised of keeping the slaves from taking advantage of the fact that England allowed freedom under certain circumstances. Economically, the Crown did not provide as much assistance as needed to the colonists of the New World. Trade involved mainly countries other than England, because this way profits were maximized. England, once again, created its colonies for mercantilist reasons: profits and only profits. In reaction to these trade schemes, the Navigation Acts were enforced. Smuggling then grew extremely popular mainly because of price differences and simple convenience. Agriculturally, the main crops were indigo, sugarcane, tobacco, cotton, and rice. Due to high demand, several workers were needed. Through the Triangular trade, raw materials went to England and the Northern Colonies, slaves came to the plantation dominated areas of the colonies, and manufactured goods went to the West Indies. Molasses was turned into rum in New England and traded for more slaves as well. Religious freedom was one of the main causes for English peoples to move to the New World. They escaped from the de catholicization of the Church of England in order to believe in what they wanted to belive in. The government once again did not pay any heed to set an official religious set of rules in the colonies, therefore allowing the people to

The Evolution of TCPIP and The Internet Essay The Evolution of TCPIP and The Internet The Evolution of TCP/IP (and the Internet) While the TCP/IP protocols and the Internet are different, their evolution are most definitely parallel. This section will discuss some of the history. Prior to the 1960s, what little computer communication existed comprised simple text and binary data, carried by the most common telecommunications network technology of the day; namely, circuit switching, the technology of the telephone networks for nearly a hundred years. Because most data traffic transmissions occur during a very short period of time, circuit switching results in highly inefficient use of network resources. In 1962, Paul Baran, of the Rand Corporation, described a robust, ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... The original ARPANET gave life to a number of protocols that were new to packet switching. One of the most lasting results of the ARPANET was the development of a user network protocol that has become the standard interface between users and packet switched networks; namely, ITU T (formerly CCITT) Recommendation X.25. This standard interface encouraged BBN to start Telenet, a commercial packet switched data service, in 1974; after much renaming, Telenet is now a part of Sprint s X.25 service. The initial host to host communications protocol introduced in the ARPANET was called the Network Control Protocol (NCP). Over time, however, NCP proved to be incapable of keeping up with the growing network traffic load. In 1974, a new, more robust suite of communications protocols was proposed and implemented throughout the ARPANET, based upon the Transmission Control Protocol (TCP) and Internet Protocol (IP). TCP and IP were originally envisioned functionally as a single protocol, thus the protocol suite, which actually refers to a large collection of protocols and applications, is usually referred to simply as TCP/IP. The original versions of both TCP and IP that are in common use today were written in September 1981, although both have had several modifications applied to them (in addition, the IP version 6, or IPv6, specification was released in December 1995). In 1983, the DoD mandated that all of their computer systems would use the TCP/IP protocol suite for

Managing And Securing Unstructured Data With a massive growth in Internet, there has been an enormous increase in the amount of information generated and shared in social networking sites and across various industries. This has led to storing and access issues with regards to unstructured data. Firstly understanding what unstructured data is of primary importance before trying to handle it. In simple terms unstructured data can be understood as data that can t be stored in the form of rows and columns. It can be anything including email files, text documents, presentations, image and video files. Studies carried out by IDC and EMC forecasts that data will grow to 40 zettabyes (1 ZB = 1 billion TB). As of now more than 80% of all stored data in organizations is unstructured and ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Also backup and restore will take a lesser time Major disadvantage is that storing unstructured data will significantly increase the size of databases which will lead to more time for backup and restore of these databases and can cause performance issues with I/O subsystems The big disadvantage of this approach is that we have to create and maintain manual links between database and external file system files which can potentially go out of sync. Also since data is stored outside the system the backups are not consistent and unstructured data is not a part of the transaction. Hybrid Approach: To overcome the disadvantages of the methods discussed above, another method was the Hybrid Approach, which proposes Database engine to support a new data type filestream . Filestram help consolidates the profit of getting to BLOBs specifically from the NTFS document framework with the referential integrity and simple entry offered by the conventional social database engine. In SQL Server, BLOBs can be standard varbinary (max) information that stores the information in tables, or filestream varbinary (max) protests that store the information in the document framework. The major advantage of this approach is BLOB s are under database transactional consistency. By carrying out research with different datasets, it was clearly observed that hybrid and filestream data type approach is faster

Communication What is communication? Communication Is when two or more people exchange or express information, thoughts, feelings etc. by using sounds, signs, or behaviors. Why do people communicate? People communicate to find out how people are feeling, so if there are any problems they can help them out and take them to the doctors if needed, in some cases people communication just to have a catch up with a friend. A good example of this within health and social would be if a person that spoke a different language needed to go to the toilet you would have to communicate by using the right translation book to understand what they are saying. There are many different types to communicate which are; one to one, formal, and informal, between colleagues, with other professionals, between professionals and service users, multi agency, multi professional working I am now going to go into some detail about these different types to communicate to each other within a social workers industry, I will be giving examples throughout. If a person is motivated to interact with the environment, this interaction would stimulate a cognitive response. Packet Inspection Using a Hierarchical Pattern Matching Algorithm T. .Mukthar Ahamed Academic Consultant Dept. of CSE YSR Engineering College of YVU Proddatur, India tmukthar@gmail.com Abstract: Detection engines capable of inspecting packet payloads for application layer network information are urgently required. The most important technology for fast payload inspection is an efficient multipattern matching algorithm, which performs exact string matching between packets and a large set of predefined patterns. This paper proposes a novel Enhanced Hierarchical Multipattern Matching Algorithm (EHMA) for packet inspection. Based on the occurrence frequency of grams, a small set of the most frequent grams is discovered and used in the EHMA. EHMA is a two tier and cluster wise matching algorithm, which significantly reduces the amount of external memory accesses and the capacity of memory. Using a skippable scan strategy, EHMA speeds up the scanning process. Furthermore, independent of parallel and special functions, EHMA is very simple and therefore practical for both software and hardware implementations. Simulation results reveal that EHMA significantly improves the matching performance. The speed of EHMA is about 0.89 1,161 times faster than that of current matching algorithms. Even under real life intense attack, EHMA still performs well. Index Terms Inspection, Detection, pattern matching, network security, signatures. 1. Introduction: A variety of

Commander Rosendahl, who was head commander of the ship s arrival, was an anxious man the day of his ship s arrival. He frequently paced his spartan office that day hoping to see his airship safely moored to the mast and passengers disembarked unharmed. ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... From the arrival, the next focal point is the tragic explosions and the escape of the passengers aboard the Hindenburg airship. The first explosion occurred approximately four minutes after the first bow rope had dropped to the field. Rosendahl remembered this moment and exclaimed, It seemed as if the whole world was holding its breath. One heard no command, no call, no cry. (Archbold, 181) A man by the name of Helmut Lau, was walking on a catwalk keeping an eye on the mooring cable when he heard a muffled detonation. He thought the combustion originated near the center of the cell by a walkway, but everything happened so fast he couldn t be sure. Another cell men by the name of Hans Freund was closest to the faint explosion as it occurred, yet his back was turned and had no clue where the fire actually started. As the Hindenburg, which was inflated with hydrogen, was being engulfed with flames the head captain ,Max Pruss, was at the head of the ship with other captains and none of the officers yet understood what was happening. Seconds later however, Captain Sammt, who was leaning out a port window along with Pruss remarked, The ship s on fire! (Archbold,183) The ground crew retreated as the fire roared toward the bow as
  • 42. Personal Philosophy Of Leadership And Generational Lines PERSONAL APPROACH TO LEADERSHIP 2 Personal Approach to Leadership across Cultural and Generational Lines The world seems to be getting smaller, and a harmonized place of work seems to be something of the yesteryears. Instead, current leaders are required to deal with a diversity of employees across generational in addition to cultural lines, respectively with their personal values, work ethic, as well as desires. The situation can be a difficult profession to keep every person in high spirits and productive. Therefore, styles and approaches that function satisfactory with some individuals may be entirely unsuccessful with others. Nevertheless, a leader should not alter their entire leadership approach every time they have an interaction with someone from a diverse generation or cultural environment. It would be my suggestion to have one sound approach that would work for most of everyone. In spite of age or cultural circumstances, each member of a team for sure has one something in common: they work for a salary and they have to be productive in order to continue to receive a salary. Therefore, individuals should learn how to balance this and other mutual grounds into a place of work environment that not just accepts diversity, nevertheless embraces it. Stop allowing alleged divisions hurt team s efficiency and learn the competences needed to successfully guide a diverse team.

She hypothesizes that a plant watered in the morning will grow faster than a plant watered at other times of the day. The independent variable in this experiment is the time of day at which the plant is watered. I know this because that is the one thing being changed in the experiment. The dependent variable is the growth of the plant. I know this because growth of the plant comes directly after affects Some controlled variables in this experiment would be: the amount of sunlight, the amount of water, the temperature, the humidity, and type of soil. Each Plant would need to be in the same area by being placed in the same window sill, same area outside, etc. Katherine would also have to measure the amount of water she was giving each plant in order to assure that one plant didn t have an unfair advantage. She would also probably have to put a thermometer on/in each pot of soil to insure that they all stayed around the same temperature. As for humidity Katherine ... With the increase in student loans, the rate of defaults are on the rise, this could be the attributed to the high unemployment rate or other financial factors. The media also misrepresents the deep web by confusing it with the darknet and giving false information about the two. It is easy to get caught in the wave of horror stories that appear in magazines and online content about the deep weband the darknet, but more often than not the deep web is doing more good than is portrayed by the media. The advances in cryptography that is being used within the deep web and the darknet are creating a safer environment for reporters and political activists; even the simple internet user needs cryptography to protect their information stored in the deep web.... Silk Road is a vehicle for that message. All else is secondary, (5). In the same documentary many anonymous interviews were done with people associated with Silk Road. One interviewee states that the site had threads with, great political and philosophical discussions, (5). He also points out that although illegal things were happening, the site itself was a community for like minded people to come and discuss things that maybe they would not be allowed to, or they would not want to, if others knew their true identity. The Dread Pirate Roberts wrote on one of the posts, Silk Road was founded on libertarian principles. This user even created a book club where they would have in depth discussions on Austrian economics and free market

The Story Of The Puerto Rican People Is Quite Unique In The story of the Puerto Rican people is quite unique in the history of U.S. immigration, just as Puerto Rico dwell a distinctive and sometimes confusing position in the nation s civic fabric. Puerto Rico has been ownership of the U.S. for more than a century, however it has never been a state. Puerto Ricans have been U.S. citizens since 1917, but even with that they still have no vote in Congress. Being citizens of the U.S. they can move throughout the fifty states without any problems just as any other American can do legally. This however, is considered inside migration, not immigration. Though, moving to the mainland, Puerto Ricans leave a homeland with its own distinct identity, culture, and the transition can involve many of the same ... Show more content on Helpwriting.net ... Having thought of all the offers that were thrown on the table to them as they made their way into the United States of America, like being told that if Puerto Rican men joined the army they would have better possibilities in having a more prosperous life on the mainland. Even though the U.S. tried to promote Puerto Rico as a glamorous tourist destination, in the early 20th century the island of Puerto Rico suffered a severe economic depression. Because of this depression, poverty was widespread, and few of the island s residents could afford the long boat journey to the mainland, therefore because of the continuing depression in Puerto Rico made many Puerto Ricans eager for a fresh start, and this then led to the fast recruiting of U.S. factory owners and employment agencies on the island. In addition, the postwar years saw the return home of thousands of Puerto Rican war veterans, whose service in the U.S. military had shown them the world. But perhaps the most significant cause was the sudden availability of affordable air travel. After centuries of immigration by boat, the Puerto Rican migration became the first great airborne migration in U.S. history.
