Dear Judges:
Hello, my name is Caitlyn Robertson. For my Senior Project, I studied how working out
affects the Human brain over the course of six months. The reason I chose this to be my
senior project, is because I have always been curious on how your brain reacts as your
working out. As a little girl, I grew up with parents who loved working out and used it as
a side job. I would always ask the question, ‘why does sweating and running make people
happy’? That has always been the question up until this year.
For my product, I decided to do a six-month study on a young girl and record her changes
in her mood and weight. Starting my product, I had to do a lot of research before starting.
Some of the research I came across was mostly historical. I learned that Yoga came from
Buddhist Monks, and Greek Gods practiced exercise to be a happier person, not to be the
best looking. During this project, I did face some problems. Some of the problems dealt
with were mostly with her weight and health problems. I overcame these problems by
working around her health issues and making it where she was able to do each and every
exercise correctly. In the end, I was very happy with the results.
Over the course of the year, I have learned that I do not want to pursue this as a career in
the future as I did in the beginning of the year. It was very time consuming and you had
to have flexible hours to coordinate days when to meet and when not to meet. I would
rather pursue a career in Chemistry becoming a Pharmacist.
My thoughts about Senior Project are positive. I did not believe this was a waste of my
time over the year. It actually was very interesting to see what everyone did over the
course of the year. It also taught me facts and information that I have never even heard
of. I would like to thank you for taking your time to read this letter and listen to my
speech.
Sincerely,
Caitlyn Robertson
