As her maternal aunt, I have had the pleasureof knowing DominiquePowers sinceshe was born. All through K-
12th grade, Dominique could be observed displayingresponsibility,and has exceeded the expectations of her
parents, teachers, and peers alike.
Always energetic and competent, Dominique has a fearless,yet uniqueability to initiatechangeand accomplish
tasks.To this end, she independently executed an innovative,profitable cakebusiness,in which sheobtained an
LLC. Moreover, she’s learned how to professionally groomdogs,be an exemplary caregiver in an adultcarefacility,
and became a podiatrist’s assistant.
Dominique is an exceptional team player, and welcomes opportunities to assistothers in beingproactiveand
accomplishinggoals.Consistently settingherself as an example, she was a member of the Dansville,MI student
council (4 years),qualified and was accepted to both the National Technical Honors Society (2 years) and the
National Honors Society (2 years),and was elected class president(3 years). Additionally,and continuingto
maintain a high GPA, she included a year of Future Farmers of America to gain agricultural knowledge. By her
senior year, Dominique’s leadership qualities and interactions with others,led to her receivingthe highly regarded
honor, and title, of homecoming queen.
13 years ago, I became a Certified Doula and subsequently a Certified Midwife. Duringthe duration of both
trainings,I’d bringhome placentas (acquired with permission athome births).Fascinated by the human body and
babies in particular,Dominiquewould don gloves and learn (inspect) beside me. These years proved to be the
beginningof her desireto become an obstetrical nurse,and shehas worked tirelessly to achieveher goal since
graduation.
Dominique consistently strives for excellence,and demands the utmost success fromherself. Her
aforementioned accomplishments,effort, and determination, make Dominique a perfect candidatefor your
