Learning Disability
There are a wide range of disabilities in children and one of the most significant is learning disability. This disability primarily affects effective learning making the performance of the children relatively poor. The diagnosis of this disability should take place when the child is relatively young. It is much easier to work towards eliminating the symptoms of learning disability when they are few and less complex and this is when a child is relatively young. No one wants to be an “alarmist” and put her child through an evaluation for trivial or transient bumps along the road to reading. Evaluations can take time, and those carried out privately can be expensive. Most parents and teachers delay evaluating a child with reading difficulties because they believe the problems are just temporary, that they will be outgrown. This is simply not true. Learning disability are not outgrown, they are persistent. Children who struggle poorly in preschool continue to have problems in the future. What may seem to be tolerable and overlooked at a young age certainly won’t be in a high grade level. Without identification and proven interventions virtually all children who struggle with difficulties with assessments early on will struggle there whole life. Even though teachers and physicians want to wait for the child to be in a high grade level before they evaluated for a learning disability, but I feel that once they start any kind of schooling and they are struggle with any kind of assignment that they should be evaluated then, not to wait until they are in a higher grade because they are too young to be evaluated.
The issue of learning disability among the young children creates concerns both for the parents and for the schools. The disability of the children should be diagnosed at the early stage and the schools and doctors should not wait till they grow up. Early diagnosis is very important. Since children are young and if their disability is diagnosed very early some treatment can be ensured for them. Moreover, both parents and teachers can specify the learning programs and methods for them. this would help the children to adopt with the environment and they would not feel themselves alien to the things at schools as they would have grown in the same environment.
Learning disabilities are very common in some of the students. Obviously, schools and doctors should do testing for the disability at the earlier age and should not wait for the students to reach at certain levels to diagnose of learning disabilities. Studies have shown that learning disabilities can be resolved very effectively if it is found at earlier stage. So, there is no point to wait to diagnose a learning disability from children when they are in first or second grade...
Schools and doctors should do all the possible means to diagnose learning disabilities of kids at a young age so that it c ...
