Designing an LMI Micro-
credential
• LMI contains too much jargon and requires specialized knowledge and/or
time investment to find, access, understand
• Reliance tends to be on informal sources of LMI like social media
• Few, if any, low cost, flexible, and self-directed options for developing LMI
literacy
• LMIC w/ the Canadian Career Development Foundation to develop
several learning modules aligned to the CCDF’s new CDP Competency
Framework
• Individuals who choose to complete all modules in the series will be
eligible for a micro-credential that will be endorsed by LMIC and CCDF,
and possibly external accrediting body

  • 13. 13 Designing an LMI Micro- credential • LMI contains too much jargon and requires specialized knowledge and/or time investment to find, access, understand • Reliance tends to be on informal sources of LMI like social media • Few, if any, low cost, flexible, and self-directed options for developing LMI literacy • LMIC w/ the Canadian Career Development Foundation to develop several learning modules aligned to the CCDF’s new CDP Competency Framework • Individuals who choose to complete all modules in the series will be eligible for a micro-credential that will be endorsed by LMIC and CCDF, and possibly external accrediting body
