The lesson plan introduces an activity on making mind maps to reinforce second language learning. Students will read about mapping and mind maps, identify factors that affect second language acquisition, and distinguish learning tips. They will then create their own mind maps on chosen topics individually or in pairs. The activity aims to help students recognize vocabulary through cognates and reflect on reasons for learning English globally.

Expected outcomes: Student will be able to identify the factors affecting the process of Learning a
second language through a reading activity about “mapping” and “how to device a mind map” . Also,
they are going to be able know new vocabulary by the introduction of cognates. Also, they are going to
be able to reflect on the multiple reasons why learning a second language such as English has become so
essential not only in Chile, but also worldwide. Student will be able to distinguish some tips the teacher
provides in order to reinforce their second language learning process e.g. concept like exposition and
Interaction, as well as some other factors affecting this process.
