LESSON STRUCTURE
* Introduce topic vocabulary and concept(s)
* What is a sense of identity? (can show the PowerPoint presentation to give examples of
what we associate with other countries). If PP is unavailable, talk about other countries and
what we associate with them. E.g. France, Wine, Fashion, cars etc.
* Read through information on p.76-77. Draw attention to the fact that there are many
famous Italian descendants spread out around the world e.g. Sylvester Stallone, Madonna,
Robert De Niro etc.
* Students use information on fig D to complete their worksheet – Italy a sense of identity.
* Complete activities 1 & 2 on page 77.
* Food and Drink – Complete activity 3. Use the Food and Drink PowerPoint and sample Italian
menu for guidance. Marks awarded for correct spellings, suitability – i.e. not Pie and Chips! a
and design and use of the correct currency (Euro)
* Review learning
