This lesson introduces students to the properties of wood and how it is used in everyday products. It discusses that wood is commonly found both indoors and outdoors in many forms. The lesson then guides students through an interactive "wood hunt" activity where they identify objects made of only wood, wood combined with other materials, and objects not made of wood. Students are instructed to go on their own wood hunt around their home or classroom to find 5 objects made of wood to learn more about the many uses of this material.

4. Wood is Everywhere!
In almost every indoor environment (and
sometimes outdoor environments
too), there is something always made
from wood or a combination of wood and
another material.
Take a moment to look around your
house or classroom to see what you can
find!

door, tables, desks, and even a toy to
name a few
