They installed two voltage optimization devices at Lakeside Place, a 116-unit residential complex in Mississauga, Ontario, to improve incoming voltage which was averaging higher than specifications. This reduced annual electricity consumption by 5% and curbed peak demand by up to 90kW, providing annual savings of $41,000 with a three year return on investment. Following this success, Oxford and Legend Power are evaluating other properties for voltage management technology.

Legend Power Systems performed an assessment for Wilson Blanchard, a real estate management company, to identify opportunities for reducing energy costs through voltage optimization at one of their office buildings in Hamilton, Ontario. After installing Legend Power's Harmonizer voltage optimization system in 2013, the building achieved nearly 500,000 kWh in annual energy savings and $15,000 in additional annual net operating income. The project also reduced peak demand by 5% and greenhouse gas emissions by 77 tons per year while enhancing the property value by $630,000 with a return on investment period of 2.8 years.

Veridian Connections is a municipally-owned utility in Ontario responsible for delivering electricity to over 119,000 customers. To showcase energy efficiency for customers, Veridian constructed a 26,000 square foot LEED certified expansion to their headquarters. Veridian worked with Legend Power Systems to implement the Harmonizer to optimize energy performance and earn LEED certification points. Since installation in late 2011, the Harmonizer has lowered the expansion's overall energy consumption by 5%, saving over 300,000 kWh and reducing peak demand by 23 kW.

Grocery Case Study Legend Power Systems
A grocery store in Burnaby, BC installed Legend Power's Harmonizer voltage management system in 2009. Legend recently upgraded the system to maximize savings. Measurement and verification of the upgrade found annual energy savings of 53,508 kWh, a peak demand reduction of 14 kW, and total financial savings of $12,206 from reduced power factor surcharges and energy costs. Optimizing voltage reduced consumption by 6% compared to operating without voltage optimization.
