They installed two voltage optimization devices at Lakeside Place, a 116-unit residential complex in Mississauga, Ontario, to improve incoming voltage which was averaging higher than specifications. This reduced annual electricity consumption by 5% and curbed peak demand by up to 90kW, providing annual savings of $41,000 with a three year return on investment. Following this success, Oxford and Legend Power are evaluating other properties for voltage management technology.

The goal is to scale deployment to millions by partnering with experts to enable widespread adoption of distributed energy storage.

The project also reduced peak demand by 5% and greenhouse gas emissions by 77 tons per year while enhancing the property value by $630,000 with a return on investment period of 2.8 years.

Grocery Case Study Legend Power Systems
A grocery store in Burnaby, BC installed Legend Power's Harmonizer voltage management system in 2009. Legend recently upgraded the system to maximize savings. Measurement and verification of the upgrade found annual energy savings of 53,508 kWh, a peak demand reduction of 14 kW, and total financial savings of $12,206 from reduced power factor surcharges and energy costs. Optimizing voltage reduced consumption by 6% compared to operating without voltage optimization.
