4. What is LEED India
⊷ Leadership in Energy and Environmental
Design (LEED-INDIA) Green Building
Rating System is a recognized point of
reference both in our country as well as
worldwide for the design, construction and
further, operation of high performance
green buildings.
⊷ The organization supplies building owners,
architects, consultants, developers, facility
managers and project managers the
paraphernalia that they require to design,
construct and operate green buildings.

6. LEED India rating system
⊷ LEED India rating system provides a
road map for measuring and
documenting success for every
building type and phase of a building
life cycle. In India, many buildings
register for a LEED Green Building
Rating.
⊷ • LEED-INDIA for New Construction
and Major Renovations is a green
building rating system that helps to
guide and design high-performance
commercial buildings.

8. How LEED Works
⊷ For commercial Buildings and
neighbourhoods,to earn LEED certification,a
project must satisfy all LEED prerequisites and
earn minimum 40 points on a 110-point LEED
rating system scale.Homes must earn a
minimum of 45 points on a scale 136-point
scale.

12. LEED rating in India
⊷ LEED. Commencing 1 July 2014,
projects in India aspiring for LEED
rating are advised to register with GBCI.
⊷ The ‘LEED India’ Projects which are
already registered with IGBC up to 30
June 2014, will continue to be certified
by IGBC till 31 May 2018. This policy is
in accordance with our understanding
with USGBC.

14. Green Building
⊷ Green building is the practice of creating
structures and using processes that are
environmentally responsible and resource-
efficient throughout a building’s life-cycle from
siting to design, construction, operation,
maintenance, renovation and deconstruction.
⊷ Green buildings are designed to reduce the overall
impact of the built environment on human health
and the natural environment by:-
⊷ Efficiently using energy, water, and other
resources
⊷ Protecting occupant health and improving
employee productivity
⊷ Reducing waste, pollution and environmental
degradation
14
18. Water Efficiency.
⊷ The accomplishment of a
function, tasks, process, or
result with minimal amount
of water fessible.
⊷ The key for efficiency is
reducing waste not restricting
use.
18
20. Energy and Atmosphere
⊷ LEED recognise the
importance of optimizing
energy performance by
allocating the greatest
number of potential points
within this category to
formulate a sustainable
design.
20
22. Material & Resources.
⊷ 40% of the carbon dioxide
that contributes to our
warming planet comes from
building.
⊷ The material are in the picture
from the first round of
planning to the final stages of
demolition or renovation of a
building or product

24. Factors Contributing to
LEED.
⊷ Green Design Strategy.
⊷ Green Process for
manufacturing.
⊷ Product Carbon Footprint
tracking.
⊷ LIFE-CYCLE ASSESSMENT.
⊷ Furniture in getting credits.
