This document provides an overview of the CIS 410/510 Introduction to Parallel Computing course at the University of Oregon. It discusses that the course was created to bring parallel computing education to undergraduate students, with support from Intel and NSF. The course will cover parallel architectures, programming patterns, algorithms and applications over 10 weeks. Students will complete programming assignments using Cilk Plus, TBB and OpenMP, and work on a final team programming project. The class will utilize the university's clusters and be supported by guest lecturers and teaching assistants.
