Today's lecture focused on key American artists from the 1950s-1960s who helped shape Pop Art and conceptual art movements, including Richard Hamilton, Jasper Johns, Robert Rauschenberg, James Rosenquist, Tom Wesselman, Roy Lichtenstein, Andy Warhol, Claes Oldenberg, Nam June Paik, John Cage, Allan Kaprow, George Maciunas, and Joseph Beuys. The lecture discussed important works such as Johns' Three Flags and Target, Rauschenberg's Black Market and Axle, Warhol's Campbell Soup Cans and Marilyns, Cage's 4'33", and Kaprow's Yard that pushed artistic boundaries and influenced generations of artists.
