At the study of conductive properties of some carbon condensates, produced by methods of the carbon arc (CA) and chemical vapor deposition (CVD), the phenomenon of spasmodic increase in electrical resistance on ~4-5 orders of magnitude under electric current increase up to some critical value is revealed . The critical current decreases with temperature and at a room temperature has the values of 5 - 1000 mA (depending on deposition condition of a carbon film and its further processing) at the applied DC voltage in the range of 5-100 V. This effect can be used for limiting of current in electrical circuits. The goal of the project is to increase the critical current up to industrial values.
