This document discusses the concept of flexispace, which refers to spaces that can be arranged and accessed on demand through online booking platforms. It provides details about the Kalasatama Urban Lab in Helsinki, which serves as an experimental flexispace open to both internal and external users. The lab aims to test concepts like independent use of the space with smart locks and integrated services. User utilization and feedback have been collected since the space opened in 2018 to understand challenges and improve the flexispace model. The main challenges identified are integrating additional services into the booking process and guiding independent users during and after their visit to the space.
