  • #25 RG Not only do we need to develop digital literacy – Serious Digital Learning requires us to master and maintain multiple digital literacies. The digital world is naturally multimedia. But today, these media are also blending and combining, to create new cultural artifacts: Transmedia Henry Jenkins, professor of media at the USC Annenberg School of communications, describes transmedia storytelling as “a process where integral elements of a fiction get dispersed systematically across multiple delivery channels for the purpose of creating a unified and coordinated entertainment experience. Ideally, each medium makes its own unique contribution to the unfolding of the story” The digital literacy that allows us to interiorize Transmedia and make it part of our personal culture, is Transliteracy.
