- 3. • Goals: - To familiarize students with different cultural aspects, like food - To develop ability to synthesize and integrate information and ideas - To develop skill in using materials, tools, and/or technology central to this subject - To develop vocabulary in foreign languages • ICT Tools: Windows Movie Maker / PowerPoint Blogs • Pedagogical basis: - To teach and use procedural language as well as special vocabulary (like materials, utensils, kitchen language) - To involve students in cooking (Home Economics, Chemistry, English) - To improve ability to follow directions, instructions, and plan
- 4. • Working methods: Students groups are assigned specific recipes. They decide on the materials, quantities and procedure. They cook while recording video or making photos. They make a presentation, using subtitles, too Every pupil/student in the group will be assigned a well defined task Every pupil/student in the group will be assigned a well defined task (for example: taking photos, leading the recipes procedures, cooking, taking a daily diary of the project and so on)

AUTUMN Grape must pudding (moustalevria), time to harvest grapes and use their sweet juice to prepare tasty goodies before turning it into wine Gateau au raisin - a very good French cake with raisins Scrumbled eggs with mushrooms- Mushrooms fried with garlic, wine and olive oil Pumpkin Pie (Kolokithopita) WINTER Pastiera – a typical cake of South of Italy prepared with ricotta cheese and wheat as principal ingredients. It is a cake prepared for Easter but for Christmas too. stuffed cabbage rolls, giaprakia (esp. around Xmas, looking like warm clothes around the newly-born baby Jesus) Puchero- Chickpeas stew with vegetables and meat. Fasolada - Bean soup. Fantastic for the cold winterdays!
- 6. SPRING Mayiritsa - (Greek Easter soup) made traditionally once a year as a smooth transition meal from Great Lent fasting to the meat menu on Holy Sunday. Chiacchiere – Little fried cakes for Carnival parties. They are made of few simple ingredients (flour, sugar, butter) and fried in form of ribbons Habas con choco- Green beans and squid stew. Lamb kleftiko - deliciously prepard lamb SUMMER Yoghurt soup tanomenon souvra - cool and nutricious, best when coming back from the beach, a full meal on its own. Traditional recipe from my grandma's family who were refugees from Nothern Turkey in 1922. Bucatini alla amatriciana – only four ingredients for this special pasta: bucatini, tomato souce, bacon and pecorino cheese Gazpacho : Andalusian cold tomato soup with bread, garlic, olive oil and cucumber. Ideal for hot summer days. Tzatziki - (yogurt dip) , my favourite for the hot greek summers!
