This document outlines a Lean project to improve NMC's travel reimbursement process. It provides: 1) Background on the Lean Champion and team members working on the project. 2) The project's purpose is to increase timely reimbursements and eliminate wasted time from errors. 3) A project charter that defines the scope, timeline, goals and stakeholders. It aims to map current and future states, standardize work and update policies by May 2015. 4) Analysis found long reimbursement times, high error rates, outdated forms and procedures contributing to waste. 5) A related 5S project organized the supply room and work area for greater efficiency.
