To give the chance to your followers to discuss the way that they
are working to achieve the team final goals
• Management
only to give them the directions that they should follow finishing
their job.

Autocratic
• Little or no input from group members
• Leader make almost all of the decisions
• Staff expected to obey orders without
receiving any explanations

Sometimes the most effective style to use when :
➢ New , untrained staff
➢ Staff do not respond to any other leadership style
➢ Limited time in which to make a decision

When :
➢ Staff become tense and fearful
➢ Staff expect their opinions heard

• Generally the most effective leadership style
• Also known as the participative style
• Encourages staff to be a part of the decision making
• Keeps staff informed about everything that effects their work
And shares decisions making and problem solving responsibility
Most Effective
When
• Wants to keep staff informed about matters that affect them .
• Wants staff to share in decision-making and problem-solving duties .
• Wants to provide opportunities for staff to develop a high sense of personal growth and
job satisfaction
• A Large or complex problem that requires lots of input to solve
• Want to encourage team building and participation
Democratic leadership should not be used when :
• Not enough time to get everyone’s input
• Can’t afford mistakes
Laissez-faire
• Also known as the delegative style or “Hands-off” Style
• The manager provides little or no direction and
gives staff as much freedom as possible
• All authority or power given to the staff
and they determine goals and make decisions
, resolve problems on their own
An effective style to use when :
• Staff highly skilled ,experienced and educated
• Staff have pride in their work and the drive to do it successfully on their own
• Staff trustworthy and experienced
Should not be used when :
• Staff feel insecure at the unavailability of a leader
• Manager cannot provide regular feedback to staff on how well they are doing
• Manager unable to thank staff for their good work
• Manager doesn’t understand his responsibility and hoping the staff cover him
Transactional leader
Leader Who Guide or motivate their followers in the direction of established goals
by clarifying role and task requirements
Transformational leader
Leader who inspire his follower to change , to find a better ways to achieve a goal

Creating a vision for an organization calls for creativity. A business leader must have the
passion, strength of will, and necessary knowledge to achieve long-term goals. A
focused individual who can inspire his team to reach organizational goals

improvement. They help others to advance their skills; they build bench strength,
and provide a lot of guidance. The coaching leadership style is most effective when
followers are more responsible, experienced, and agreeable.

most effective when there is a need to mend bad feelings that may have developed
in a group, or to motivate others during times of heavy workload and stress.
