Phuti Ragophala, a teacher at Pula Madibogo Primary School in Limpopo Province, learned about using RedCritter to gamify the classroom from a webinar presented by Dan Hoffman. RedCritter allows teachers to create individual profiles for students with photos to manage their skills and track progress from a phone. Teachers can award virtual badges and rewards to students for participation, initiative, and positive behavior in class. It also facilitates daily attendance tracking and sharing ideas with colleagues.
Phuti Ragophala, a teacher at Pula Madibogo Primary School in Limpopo Province, learned about using the classroom gamification tool RedCritter during a webinar in May 2016. RedCritter allows teachers to create individual profiles for students with photos to manage their skills and track progress. Teachers can also award virtual badges, rewards, and accolades to students for participation, initiative, and positive behavior from their phone. The tool provides daily attendance records for students and a space for teachers to share ideas with colleagues.

LAND USE LAND COVER AND NDVI OF MIRZAPUR DISTRICT, UPRAHUL
This Dissertation explores the particular circumstances of Mirzapur, a region located in the
core of India. Mirzapur, with its varied terrains and abundant biodiversity, offers an optimal
environment for investigating the changes in vegetation cover dynamics. Our study utilizes
advanced technologies such as GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and Remote sensing to
analyze the transformations that have taken place over the course of a decade.
The complex relationship between human activities and the environment has been the focus
of extensive research and worry. As the global community grapples with swift urbanization,
population expansion, and economic progress, the effects on natural ecosystems are becoming
more evident. A crucial element of this impact is the alteration of vegetation cover, which plays a
significant role in maintaining the ecological equilibrium of our planet.Land serves as the foundation for all human activities and provides the necessary materials for
these activities. As the most crucial natural resource, its utilization by humans results in different
'Land uses,' which are determined by both human activities and the physical characteristics of the
land.
The utilization of land is impacted by human needs and environmental factors. In countries
like India, rapid population growth and the emphasis on extensive resource exploitation can lead
to significant land degradation, adversely affecting the region's land cover.
Therefore, human intervention has significantly influenced land use patterns over many
centuries, evolving its structure over time and space. In the present era, these changes have
accelerated due to factors such as agriculture and urbanization. Information regarding land use and
cover is essential for various planning and management tasks related to the Earth's surface,
providing crucial environmental data for scientific, resource management, policy purposes, and
diverse human activities.
Accurate understanding of land use and cover is imperative for the development planning
of any area. Consequently, a wide range of professionals, including earth system scientists, land
and water managers, and urban planners, are interested in obtaining data on land use and cover
changes, conversion trends, and other related patterns. The spatial dimensions of land use and
cover support policymakers and scientists in making well-informed decisions, as alterations in
these patterns indicate shifts in economic and social conditions. Monitoring such changes with the
help of Advanced technologies like Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems is
crucial for coordinated efforts across different administrative levels. Advanced technologies like
Remote Sensing and Geographic Information Systems

Changes in vegetation cover refer to variations in the distribution, composition, and overall
structure of plant communities across different temporal and spatial scales. These changes can
occur natural.

10. Short explanation of UN SDG’s
They are 17.
These are the UN SDG’s or objectives that were agreed upon by various
countries including south Africa.
The work of incorporating SDG’s in teaching and learning is for me an amazing
way for schools to be drawn into global issues and encouraging learners to be
global citizens.
At our school we believed that incorporating UN SDG’s in to teaching and
learning will encourage learners to be practical in their learning rather than
theory alone.
As such we cam with many projects in the school yard that are aligned with
learning areas. Green projects, skyping, hour of code grooming of girls into
leadership skills, rangers, prefectship, scholar patrol, IKS and young scientists
etc
The main was to assist them acquire skills and knowledge so that they are
able to augment or to beef up their learning in class and to collaborate with
other global teachers and learners about challenges that affect them.
But beside that to expose them to real life situation
11. Evolution of teaching and learning
Teaching and learning has changed
Other provinces are a bit ahead of us with TWT
Here in Limpopo we are 6 years behind according to e -learning policy and
operation phakisa
There are schools which have been moving forward irrespective of backlog
from department of education
Such as Pulamadibogo primary
Former MASTEC,SchoolNet, Microsoft,COZA CARES are NGO’s that trained
teachers to be where we are now
12. Real teaching and learning experience
Farming: Through skills acquired from FTFA we started Greening projects to supply the community, instil
farming skills to learners, fight poverty. Main aim :To re assure community that they can produce their own
food without relying on hand-outs from municipality ,to inspire future farmers & maintain peace
Maintain peace and justice, No poverty and good health and well being
Addressed UNESCO Sustainable Development Goal Number 1 and 16
13.
14.
15. IKS in medicine: Through skills acquired from FTFA and UNILIM I and my colleques learnt on how to use
green herbs to make ointments and e we transferred the skills to learners to unlock their critical and
creative skills : Harvesting, mixing, cooking, packaging and labelling and sell to augment school funds, gain
knowledge and to inspire their career choice
Quality education, good health and well being, reducing inequality in education
Addressing UNESCO SDG’s number 3 and 4
16. Young scientists in making: Using green garden
as a laboratory to make ointments( value for
money)

to me
Greetings Ma'am
Apr 30 (4 days ago)
My name is Stephen Mafokoane, I am not quite sure that you remember me, I was in the 2011 group.
Right now I am in my first year at Pearson Institute, doing Biotechnology/Pharmacy.
Basically, you made me to choose this lane, you made me to have love for herbs and medicine.
So I want to return to the community, and only you can help me with that.
I am thinking of using The Grade 7 Theory lesson on sectors of economy. The one about how products are
made fron raw materials until packed.
My aim right now is to produce those medicines again, and help kids. With you not being at Pula-Madibogo
anymore, some kids might struggle with the head sores, fungi etc.
So ma'am, I cannot start this without you, you have the methods, you have more knowledge on this. And
this is your project, I could not just hijack it.
All I need is your help, confirmation and blessings.
Stay blessed.
Regards

26. Take Note:
If you say you are teaching the way learners learn, but you
are still using traditional way of teaching ,then, there is a
missing link. If you want to teach learners the way they
learn, you must be on technology and social media
platforms.
If you say you are a teacher and still not on digital teaching
you haven’t yet started teaching
Learners are more on learning through games:
Gamification. E.g Hour of code
As such we cannot separate G learning and E learning from
todays generation.
Its in their veins. As teachers we must adapt

39. Challenges
• Many unemployed parents who cannot be all
accommodated in the school projects
• The school become a school of choice
• Limited technology resources
• Sceptic people about IKS in medicine project
• Some colleques are still believing on theory teaching
than practical(PBL) still believe in standing infront of
children and batch
• Our province is not implementing Operation Phakisa in
ICT as such many educators and learners are strangers
in ICT field

46. Recommendations
Be a leader with vision. Be able to see things that are invisible to others.
More especially school principal. Be the custodian of that school vision
Decentralize your power
Limpopo is position nine . We are not comfortable to be there. Lets work
hard.
Lead by doing. If you want things to be done, be the first to do it.
Lead from the front. Values in education. Empathy, respect,
Take risks but not ordinary risks but calculated risks
Magnify the images of learners
Don’t just teach, but change lives of those learners
Be like that candle that consume itself to make light for other people
Change with time. Digital era. Transform your teaching and learning
Make your school a nucleus of the community
Go and make positive changes in your school

Editor's Notes
After serving the department of education for than three decades I decided to change my work scenery from classroom to online teaching with the hope of accessing more people globally . Today im able to share ideas globally with likeminded educators, be a guest speaker and playing mystery skype to make learning more fun. The problem of limited resources was never a challenge to me because Ive realized that that’s were innovative thinking starts. I always want to make the impossible possible in my teaching. And the idea of changing the lives of learners through education got so entrenched in me in such that I want to see success in every child .
While in the school situation:
Skype is one of my favourite tool to drive teaching and learning. Through it learners are able to get more space of learning than be confined to classroom only.
Here they skyped with a school from Austria. Exchanging ideas about national symbols of their country.(Skype collaboration) Colours of the flag, symbols, national anthem , presidents etc
Personal visit to the school and community club to launch reading project and formation of reading clubs. The power of skype
