The true measure of leadership is influence over others. Leadership principles are constant and stand the test of time. A person's effectiveness and potential is limited by their ability to lead others. True leadership comes from influence over followers, not from titles or positions. The key aspects that make an effective leader are their character, relationships with others, knowledge, intuition, experience, past success, and abilities. Becoming a great leader takes time and continuous development.
The Leadership Challenge is known as one of the most valid and famous leadership models. In this presentation I went through the following topics:

The 360 Degree Leader
Developing your Influence from
Anywhere in the Organization
John C. Maxwell
The Myths of Leading from the Middle of
an Organization
99% of all leadership happens in the middle
of an organization
You can learn to make a positive impact even
if you report to someone who is not a good
leader
Need to lead in 3 directions– up, down, and
across
Position Myth
I can’t lead if I am not on top
The true measure of leadership is influence–
nothing more, nothing less
You must earn the right to lead
Position- people follow because the have to
Permission- people follow because they want to
Production- people follow because what you have done for
the organization
People Development- People follow because of what you
have done for them
Personhood- People follow because of who you are and
what you represent
Destination Myth
When I get to the top, I will learn to lead
If you want to succeed, you need to learn as
much as you can about leadership BEFORE
you have a leadership position
If you do not try out your leadership and
decision making skills when the stakes are
low, you are likely to get in trouble when the
cost of making a mistake is high
Influence Myth
When I get to the top, I’ll be in control
A position gives you a chance, but it cannot
guarantee influence --that must be earned
A position doesn’t make a leader
A leader can make the position
Inexperience Myth
When I get to the top, I’ll be in control
The higher you go the more you realize how
many factors control the organization
At the top you need every bit of influence you
can muster
Freedom Myth
When I get to the top, I’ll have no limits
It doesn’t matter what job you do or what
position you obtain– you WILL have limits
The amount of responsibility you have
increases faster than the authority you are
granted
You must tailor your responses to a greater
variety of people to maximize their potential
Your rights decrease as your responsibilities
increase
Customer, worker, leader, CEO
Potential Myth--I can’t reach my potential
if I am not the top leader
Strive for the top of your game, not the top of
the organization
Example given is Cheney – “You plug him in
and he works anywhere. He just has a real
good way of fitting in and working his
environment.”
All or Nothing Myth
If I can’t get to the top, I won’t try to lead
“I believe that individuals can become better
leaders wherever they are. Improve your
leadership, and you can impact your
organization. You can change people’s lives.
You can be someone who adds value. You
can learn to influence people at every level of
the organization– even if you never get to the
top. By helping others, you can help
yourself.”
Challenges Leaders Face

Leadership success is all about the how leaders perceived by his team. The most important thing is leading by example. The holistic and inclusive approach to leadership is the best way forward in leading the people. This presentation is all about Islamic Perspective on Leadership.
We all have good and bad thoughts from time to time and situation to situation. We are bombarded daily with spiraling thoughts(both negative and positive) creating all-consuming feel , making us difficult to manage with associated suffering. Good thoughts are like our Mob Signal (Positive thought) amidst noise(negative thought) in the atmosphere. Negative thoughts like noise outweigh positive thoughts. These thoughts often create unwanted confusion, trouble, stress and frustration in our mind as well as chaos in our physical world. Negative thoughts are also known as “distorted thinking”.

2024.06.01 Introducing a competency framework for languag learning materials ...Sandy Millin
http://sandymillin.wordpress.com/iateflwebinar2024
Published classroom materials form the basis of syllabuses, drive teacher professional development, and have a potentially huge influence on learners, teachers and education systems. All teachers also create their own materials, whether a few sentences on a blackboard, a highly-structured fully-realised online course, or anything in between. Despite this, the knowledge and skills needed to create effective language learning materials are rarely part of teacher training, and are mostly learnt by trial and error.
Knowledge and skills frameworks, generally called competency frameworks, for ELT teachers, trainers and managers have existed for a few years now. However, until I created one for my MA dissertation, there wasn’t one drawing together what we need to know and do to be able to effectively produce language learning materials.
This webinar will introduce you to my framework, highlighting the key competencies I identified from my research. It will also show how anybody involved in language teaching (any language, not just English!), teacher training, managing schools or developing language learning materials can benefit from using the framework.

The Roman Empire A Historical Colossus.pdfkaushalkr1407
The Roman Empire, a vast and enduring power, stands as one of history's most remarkable civilizations, leaving an indelible imprint on the world. It emerged from the Roman Republic, transitioning into an imperial powerhouse under the leadership of Augustus Caesar in 27 BCE. This transformation marked the beginning of an era defined by unprecedented territorial expansion, architectural marvels, and profound cultural influence.
The empire's roots lie in the city of Rome, founded, according to legend, by Romulus in 753 BCE. Over centuries, Rome evolved from a small settlement to a formidable republic, characterized by a complex political system with elected officials and checks on power. However, internal strife, class conflicts, and military ambitions paved the way for the end of the Republic. Julius Caesar’s dictatorship and subsequent assassination in 44 BCE created a power vacuum, leading to a civil war. Octavian, later Augustus, emerged victorious, heralding the Roman Empire’s birth.
Under Augustus, the empire experienced the Pax Romana, a 200-year period of relative peace and stability. Augustus reformed the military, established efficient administrative systems, and initiated grand construction projects. The empire's borders expanded, encompassing territories from Britain to Egypt and from Spain to the Euphrates. Roman legions, renowned for their discipline and engineering prowess, secured and maintained these vast territories, building roads, fortifications, and cities that facilitated control and integration.
The Roman Empire’s society was hierarchical, with a rigid class system. At the top were the patricians, wealthy elites who held significant political power. Below them were the plebeians, free citizens with limited political influence, and the vast numbers of slaves who formed the backbone of the economy. The family unit was central, governed by the paterfamilias, the male head who held absolute authority.
Culturally, the Romans were eclectic, absorbing and adapting elements from the civilizations they encountered, particularly the Greeks. Roman art, literature, and philosophy reflected this synthesis, creating a rich cultural tapestry. Latin, the Roman language, became the lingua franca of the Western world, influencing numerous modern languages.
Roman architecture and engineering achievements were monumental. They perfected the arch, vault, and dome, constructing enduring structures like the Colosseum, Pantheon, and aqueducts. These engineering marvels not only showcased Roman ingenuity but also served practical purposes, from public entertainment to water supply.

2. Leadership!!!
The true measure of leadership is influence. The
principles of leadership are constant. Leadership principles are
unchanging and stand the test of time.
No matter where you are in the leadership process, know
this: “The greater the number of laws you learn, the better
leader you will become.”
Value of Leadership
The leadership ability is the lid that determines a person’s
level of effectiveness.
“The lower an individual’s ability to lead, the lower
the lid on his potential”
www.aladesuru-walter-adewale.strikingly.com
3. Success without leadership ability brings only limited
effectiveness. Without leadership ability, a person’s impact is
only a fraction of what it could be with good leadership.
The higher you want to climb, the more you need
leadership. The greater the impact you want to make, the greater
your influence needs to be.
Whatever you will accomplish is restricted by your ability
to lead others.
True Measure of Leadership
One of the most effective leaders of the late twenties
century was anything but impressive upon first appearance. If
you don’t have influence, you will never be able to lead others.
“Small Stature – Big Impact!”
4. NOTE:
“The quintessential, energetic entrepreneur, who has
perceived a need and done something about it, built an
organization against all odds, formulates its constitution and
sent out branches all over the world.”
“Leadership is all about influence – Nothing more,
nothing less.”
Leadership is often misunderstood.
When people hear that someone has an impressive title or
an assigned leadership position, they assume that individual to
be a leader.
Sometimes that’s true. But titles don’t have much value
when it comes to leading.
True leadership cannot be awarded, appointed, or assigned.
It comes only from influence, and that cannot be mandated.
It must be earned.
The only thing a title can buy is a little time – either to
increase your level of influence with others or to undermine it.
www.aladesuru-walter-adewale.strikingly.com
5. MYTHS OF LEADERSHIP
- Management:
A widespread misunderstanding is that leading and
managing are one and the same.
Leadership is all about influencing people to follow, while
management focuses on maintaining systems and processes.
The best way to test whether a person can lead rather than
just manage is to ask him/her to create positive change.
- Entrepreneur:
Entrepreneurs are skilled at seeing opportunities and going
after them. They see needs and understand how to meet them in
a way that produces a profit. But not all of them are good with
people.
6. - Knowledge:
“Knowledge is power!” – Sir Francis Bacon
If you believe power to be the essence of leadership, then
you might naturally assume that those who possess knowledge
and intelligence are therefore leaders.
Neither IQ nor Education necessarily equals to leadership.
- Position:
People think leadership is based on position, but it’s not.
“It’s not the position that makes the leader; it’s the leader that
makes the position.” – Stanley Huffy
When it comes to identifying a real leader, that task can be
much easier.
- Don’t listen to the claims of professing to be the leader.
- Don’t examine his credentials.
- Don’t check his title.
Check his influence.
“The proof of leadership is found in the followers.”
7. - Pioneer:
Misconception is that anyone who is out in front of the
crowd is a leader. But being first isn’t always the same as
leading.
“To be a leader, a person has to not only be out front, but
also have people intentionally coming behind him, following
his lead, and acting on his vision.”
Being a trendsetter is not the same as being a leader.
www.aladesuru-walter-adewale.strikingly.com
8. “To me, leadership means being there. So in the days
ahead, let’s be there for each other.” – Aladesuru Adewale
Leadership is ... …;
- “The true measure of leadership is influence” –
Nothing more, nothing less!
www.aladesuru-walter-adewale.strikingly.com
9. FACTORS THAT MAKE A LEADER:-
1. Character – “Who they are”
The true leadership always begins with the inner person –
depth of his character.
2. Relationship – “Who they Know”
You’re a leader only if you have followers, and that always
requires the development of relationships – “the deeper the
relationships, the stronger the potentials for leadership.”
Note:
- Build enough of the right kinds of relationships with the
right people, and you can become the real leader in an
organization.
3. Knowledge – “What they know”
Information is vital to a leader. You need a grasp of the
facts, an understanding of dynamic factors and timing, and a
vision for the future.
Knowledge alone won’t make someone a leader, but
without knowledge, no one can become one.
10. 4. Intuition – “What they feel”
Leadership requires more than just a command of data. It
demands an ability to deal with numerous intangibles.
Leaders seek to recognize and influence intangible such as
energy, morals, timing, and momentum.
5. Experience – “Where they’ve been”
The greater the challenges you’ve faced as a leader in the
past, the more likely followers are to give you a chance in the
present.
“Experience doesn’t guarantee credibility, but it
encourages people to give you a chance to prove that you are
capable.”
6. Past Success – “What they’ve Done”
Nothing speaks to followers like a good track record.
“Every time I extended myself, took a risk, and succeeded,
followers had another reason to trust my leadership ability –
and to listen to what I had to say.”
7. Ability – “What they can do”
The bottom line for followers is what a leader is capable of
– lead the team to victory.
12. “The very essence of all power to influence lies in getting the
other person to participate.” – Harry A. Overstreet
If you continually invest in your leadership development,
letting your “assets” compound, the inevitable result is growth
over time.
See what a person is doing every day, day after day, and
you’ll know who that person is and what he or she is becoming.
“The ability to lead is really a collection of skills, nearly all
of which can be learned and improved. But that process doesn’t
happen overnight.”
- Becoming a leader is a lot like investing successfully
in the stock market. If your hope is to make a fortune
in a day, you’re not going to be successful.
Leader is complicated.
It has many facets: respect, experience, emotional strength,
people skills, discipline, vision, momentum, and timing – the list
goes on.
Many factors that come into play in leadership are
intangible. That’s why leaders require so much seasoning to be
effective.
www.aladesuru-walter-adewale.strikingly.com
13. In conclusion,
“Choose the high road, the path to more knowledge
and experience.” – Aladesuru Adewale
On the brighter side, I think most people want to be the best
they can be.
That’s probably one reason you’re reading this right now –
you’ve chosen the high road, the path to more knowledge and
experience.
It’s one of the reason I enjoy giving speeches and teaching
– I can share what I know with people who are really motivated
to know more, to do more, and to improve the quality of their
minds and lives.
It’s a great feeling.
I hope you’ll continue to expand your life every day.
Thanks.
To making life better and to your best of success!!!
