2. Leader Dogs for the Blind Offers Your
Organization a Unique Opportunity
Companies have always been expected to deliver quality products and services.
Today, companies are also being asked to demonstrate effective corporate
social responsibility.
We know that 65% of Americans own pets and that the beloved dog is the
most popular pet of all. And when dogs are paired with people to give them
greater independence, confidence and travel, it is powerful and moving!
Leader Dogs for the Blind is a national brand with a global reach. Since 1939,
we have been the premier organization for guide dogs, serving nearly 15,000
clients in 39 countries around the world.
Partnering with Leader Dogs for the Blind is a strategic way to add value to
your employees and the community. We look forward to making our impact in the
community part of your company’s success story.
Employee Engagement
Sponsor (and Name) a Future Leader Dog
Sponsoring a Future Leader Dog is a great way to involve your employees in our
mission for a full year. You can name the puppy after your brand or founder, or
host a contest to involve everyone in choosing the dog’s name. Throughout the
puppy’s first year of development you will receive updates on the puppy’s progress
and get at least one site visit from the puppy.
Raise a Future Leader Dog
Your team can play a big part in empowering a Leader Dog client with advanced
travel opportunities by raising a Future Leader Dog. This project is a unique way
to build team cohesiveness around a great cause. While raising a Future Leader
Dog only takes 12–14 months, the personal impact to your team and Leader Dog’s
client will last a lifetime.
Matching Gifts
A matching gift program is a great way to let your employees know that you are
a good corporate citizen and that you support Leader Dogs for the Blind. The
program is easy to set up and can be promoted via your existing newsletters,
intranet sites or meetings.
Auto-withdraw
Employees can set up direct contributions to Leader Dog or designate Leader Dog
in their United Way gifts. We will be happy to provide literature and help set this up.
Host a Fundraising Event
Jeans day, casual Fridays, golf outings, movie marathons or ping pong
tournaments; however your team defines fun, you can do it while supporting
Leader Dogs for the Blind. Turn your work or social event into a fundraiser by
charging an entry fee, running raffles or collecting sponsorships. In many cases,
we can arrange for a Future Leader Dog to attend your event.
Employee Enrichment
Keynote Speaker
Powerful keynote presenters motivate their audience to see the world and
your business in a different way. Our professional speakers will present your
conference or corporate goals from a different point of view using unique
insights and personal experiences. By connecting with the audience as an
individual and business leader, our speakers’ goal is to change how you view
relationships and perspective inside and outside your organization.
Leadership Development
Harness the Power of Leadership is a one-day, one-of-a-kind experiential
workshop using the profound relationship between a person and their Leader
Dog to give new meaning to the word “team.” When working together can
literally mean life or death on a daily basis, the abilities to communicate
proficiently and give direction clearly take on new meaning. A great experience
for seasoned executives looking for fresh ideas, managers charged with
executing change, and cross-functional or newly-formed teams.
Consumer Engagement
There are many ways to partner with Leader Dog through your company
initiatives. Show your clients and customers that you are socially responsible
through cause-related marketing, donating a portion of proceeds, co-branding
or cross promotion. These are just some of the ways we can work together.
