About TOMS
We are more than a company, we are a movement. At TOMS we take our mission of “improving lives
through business” seriously and we hope you will too.
Our business philosophy is rooted in the concept of Giving. With every product purchased, TOMS helps a
person in need. One for One®
. It all started in 2006 when American traveler Blake Mycoskie befriended
children in a village in Argentina and found they had no shoes to protect their feet. Wanting to help, he
created TOMS, a company that would match every pair of shoes purchased with a pair of new shoes for
a child in need. Realizing that One for One®
could create other global impacts, Blake launched TOMS
Eyewear in 2011 to bring eye exams and treatment to people in need with every purchase of sunglasses
and optical frames. In 2014, TOMS Roasting Co. launched with the mission to provide safe water to
developing communities with the purchase of premium coffee. This year TOMS added another One for
One®
product to support safe childbirth around the world.
Currently led by CEO Jim Alling, TOMS’ business operations include wholesale, retail, and e-commerce
sales of footwear, eyewear, coffee, apparel, and accessories in the Americas, EMEA, and Asia Pacific.
TOMS’ giving operations are directed from our headquarters in West Los Angeles, California.

TOMS Giving
Since our founding, we have given over 45 million pairs of shoes to children in need, helped restore sight
to more than 325,000 people, and provided more than 175,000 weeks of safe water. We are giving in 70
countries around the world through partnerships with more than 100 nonprofit Giving Partners. Our Giving
Partners focus on poverty alleviation and international development, bringing expertise from their local
regions and communities.
Our current Giving Strategy includes:
• Shoes – TOMS Shoes are given to children through humanitarian organizations that incorporate
shoes into their community development programs. Shoes come in a variety of styles to meet local
children’s needs.
• Sight – We provide prescription glasses, medical treatment, and sight-saving surgery in 13 countries
through TOMS eyewear purchases. Purchases support sustainable, community-based eye care
programs, the creation of professional jobs (often for young women), and help provide basic eye
care training to local health volunteers and teachers.
• Water – With each purchase of TOMS Roasting Co. Coffee, we work with our Giving Partners to
provide 140 liters of safe water (a one week supply) to a person in need. By supporting the creation
of sustainable water systems, we are able to help provide entire communities with access to safe
water, which leads to improved health, increased economic productivity, job creation, and access
to education.
• Safe Birth – Launched in 2015, purchases of TOMS Bags help our Giving Partners provide training for
skilled birth attendants and distribute birth kits to support clean, safe childbirth, regardless of the
facility.
• Bullying Prevention – With the purchase of a TOMS StandUp Backpack, we provide funds for the
training of school staff on bullying prevention and response, as well as crisis counselor training.
