This document discusses using technology in education and strategies for getting teachers to adopt new technologies. It suggests that the biggest obstacles are often acceptance to change rather than money or time. It also emphasizes that professional development works best when done in groups, and that having administrators and multiple teachers from the same school participate helps speed acceptance. Studies show teachers gain significantly in skills and comfort with technology after taking technology integration courses.
We presented to the Corpus Christi chapter of ASTD on Social Media for Trainers. We discussed how to utilize social media technologies before, during and after training. We touch on collaboration, research, back channels, leave-behinds and pre- and post-training surveys.

So, reflecting on some of the things we have learned in 2020, it is worth distilling some thoughts as we move in to 2021, particularly around TEL and the funding environment for HE. Let's do a SWOT and see what others think too.

Neuro-symbolic (NeSy) AI is on the rise. However, simply machine learning on just any symbolic structure is not sufficient to really harvest the gains of NeSy. These will only be gained when the symbolic structures have an actual semantics. I give an operational definition of semantics as “predictable inference”.
