To study the effect of “Organizational Silence” on the “Intention to leave” (...saber mousavi
Abstract:
Organizational Silence is a new concept in modern organizational behavior’s literature and that is why it is yet unknown in many organizations. This phenomenon could be an obstacle to expressing ideas and opinions of individuals in the organization.
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the impact of organizational silence on the desire to leave work in Maat Advertising Agency. This is a descriptive practical time-limited study. The statistical population includes all employees of the organization in fall of 1394 that consists 200 people. In order to collect data, researcher-developed questionnaire with 23 close- answered items with Likert five-point scale were used. Questionnaire’s validity is confirmed by content-construct validity; also its reliability is measured with a random selection of 12 respondents, questioned twice in an interval of 7 days. Cronbachs’ Alpha Coefficient of organizational Silence was evaluated as 0.896. Additionally Descriptive statistical tests were applied to analyze the acquired data, as well as inferential statistical tests which were used to analyze research hypotheses.
The results from hypothesis testing suggests that organizational silence and all its components including defensive, submissive and altruistic silence affect the desire to leave in employees.
