Personal Statement
I have recently graduated from Bath Spa University with a Combined Honours Undergraduate Degree in
Drama Studies and Media Communications (2.1). My studies combined practical and theoretical work.
My involvement in a number of theatrical productions, both as a performer and in their production have
developed a real passion and flair for organisation which I now believe to be a major asset to my skill set.
Examples of areas that I worked in to ensure that these large productions were a success include
inventive advertising, coming up with ideas for fund raising & participating in them (packing bags for
people in supermarkets), working to a tight budget for the sourcing of materials, allocating each member
of the cast with their responsibility towards the project and overseeing them.
My experiences in Drama, at university and in my working life have made me a confident, hard working
person. I enjoy facing new and exciting experiences and challenges – Stand Up Comedy at university was
one such challenge!
Although my work experience so far is limited, it has included extensive training in customer service and
sales techniques which has helped me to become a good communicator. I am level headed with a good
sense of humour.

cinema where we often worked under extreme pressure.
Barista – Costa Coffee (JUNE 2014 – AUGUST 2014)
Costa Coffee was a summer job which I took up at the end of my first university year. Here I was trained
in making and serving hot food and drinks. I worked in an extremely busy customer based environment
needing to be very organised and able to multi task.
Sales Assistant – WH Smith (AUGUST 2011 - MARCH 2013)
